Grammar Fail: Texas GOP Accidentally Claims Most Of The State Is Gay
Proofreading error or Freudian slip?
From: NewNowNext
From: NewNowNext
Proofreading mistakes are a fact of life (as eager readers love to point out to us). But Texas Republicans are so busy attacking gay and trans people, they’ve forgotten to copy edit their own hate-filled rhetoric.
Yesterday, NPR pointed out that a plank in the Texas GOP platform is so filled with grammatical errors it actually suggests most Texans are gay.
Homosexuality is a chosen behavior that is contrary to the fundamental unchanging truths that has been ordained by God in the Bible, recognized by our nations founders, and shared by the majority of Texans.
Aside from forgetting to put an apostrophe in “nations,” the misuse of a comma in the sentence suggests they’re claiming homosexuality is “shared by the majority of Texans.”
That idea is furthered by the mismatched verb tenses: Using “has” is used instead of “have,” is stating homosexuality “has been ordained by God in the Bible, recognized by our nations founders, and shared by the majority of Texans.”
Now we’d agree with some of that, but we don’t think that’s what the Republicans in the Lone Star were getting at. Especially since it calls for a North Carolina-type “bathroom bill” in Texas, as well as the rejection of the Supreme Court ruling bringing marriage equality to the whole nation.
Celine Dion Covers Queen’s 1991 Hit, “The Show Must Go On”
The pop legend will pick up an Icon Award at this Sunday's Billboard Music Awards.

Celine Dion will perform the Queen classic “The Show Must Go On” at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, and to celebrate, she’s released the audio track on Vevo.
Dion has previously performed the 1991 hit at her Las Vegas residency, though it gained particularly special meaning for her more recently following the deaths of her husband, René Angélil, and her brother within two days of each other back in January.
“René always insisted the show must go on,” the global icon recently told People. “I’m 48 years old and I lost the love of my life. I miss him a lot from when he was great but not when he was suffering. I cannot be selfish. You have to let people go. I feel at peace.”
The Queen cover also features American violinist Lindsey Stirling. The two will join forces and perform together at this Sunday’s BBMAs, where Celine will also be honored with the Icon Award.

Woman Who Donates Hair To Cancer Patients Harassed In Walmart Bathroom For Being “Transgender”
"I’m grateful that that woman only called me disgusting and didn’t physically attack me," says Aimee Toms.
From: NewNowNext
From: NewNowNext
A Connecticut woman says she was verbally assaulted in a Walmart bathroom last week because another shopper believed she was transgender.
Aimee Toms was sporting a pixie cut and a baseball cap when another woman walked up to her and declared “You’re disgusting!” and “You don’t belong here!” before giving her the finger and running out.
“After experiencing the discrimination they face firsthand, I cannot fathom the discrimination transgender people must face in a lifetime,” Toms, 22, said in a Facebook video. “Can you imagine going out every day and having people tell you you should not be who you are or that people will not accept you as who you are?”
While any such incident is inexcusable, Toms’ short hair is actually the result of her donating her locks to children with cancer.
She says what happened to her underscores how ridiculous it is to try and determine someone’s gender at a glance.
“I’ve had people call me all sorts of names for having short hair. I’ve had people call me a boy, I’ve had people call me a dyke, I’ve had people call me gay.” she explains. “I’m grateful that that woman only called me disgusting and didn’t physically attack me.”
In the post accompanying her video, Toms declared, “If it really takes me pulling up my shirt and showing someone I grew these boobs myself for them to leave me alone in a restroom, I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.”
She believes the incident happened because of all the attention—and misinformation—surrounding North Carolina’s HB2.
“This is all just a response. No one was telling these people to be scared of transgender people before. No one was telling them that they should be throwing people out of bathrooms,” she says. “As if it wasn’t scary enough for transgender people to use the bathroom before.”

Water Dance: Francesco by AANE Photography/THOM Graphophoton
From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things
'In the future, if I shoot in a bathroom, I will make sure, I keep dry and keep the heat on full blast.'
Earlier this month, I featured AANE Photography's incredible images of dancer and model Francesco. (Ballerino) My focus for that piece was the first half of Francesco's shoot withAANE Photography and THOM Graphophoton.
I ended that piece with a promise to also feature the second half of the shoot, stepping into the shower along with Francesco. I love the 22 year old Italian model's smoldering and sexy look and his incredibly toned body and beautifully curved and beautifully shaped buttocks.
When your shooting a model in a shower, you might expect to get a few drops of water on you. For this shoot however, Mike ended up not only getting drenched, but subsequently getting quite ill. In order to get the shots he wanted, Mike needed the shower door to remain open. With the door wide open, the water ended up pouring out onto the floor and all over photographer busily snapping away.
For Francesco, getting naked and soaking wet wasn't an issue. he was prepared and able to dry off and put back on his clean and dry clothes. Not expecting to get wet, and without a dry change of clothes to change into, Mike remained in his wet clothes until he was able to dry off and clean up much later in the day.
Mike ended up missing out on much of his planned activities in New York, as well as a trip to Dallas he was scheduled to take. Getting sick however, ended up being sort of transformational, and in addition to getting some greats shots of Francesco, ended up creating a positive change for Mike.
'As it turns out, my sickness led to a cascade of cancellations, culminating in my eventual leaving on my old job for my new one. It was time to get off the road, so I wasn't unhappy. I still am trying to figure out my new job, and if I will be comfortable there, but I can safely say that Francesco helped me do something I had been meaning and wanting to do for about three years.'

Watch What Happens When These Guys Are Photoshopped To “Ideal Body Types”
The Try Guys assess the world's obsession with perfect bodies.
From: NewNowNext
From: NewNowNext
BuzzFeed’s Try Guys find out what they’d look like with an “ideal body type” in their latest video, which employs a team of stylists, makeup artists and Photoshop experts to help make it happen.
In the 11 minute video, the guys talk about their insecurities and discuss what they thought was the “ideal” body type while they were growing up.
Though the guys’ perception of their own bodies have changed over the years, they all agree that there hasn’t ever been a time in when their bodies were considered “ideal” by mainstream standards.
“I grew up in an environment where I was beat up a lot and made fun of — I was kind of told every day that I was ugly,” Eugene reveals. “And then, being Korean, I was also told that I could always be improving how I look. One wouldn’t expect me to have a lot of issues about me, when I’m just riddled with body insecurities.”
The guys are then posed, photographed, and ’shopped to look like their idols — Zach as Justin Bieber, Keith as John Krasinski, Ned as Cristiano Ronaldo, and Eugene as Channing Tatum.
Their originals:
In the end, the guys realize that beauty is only skin deep.
Said Eugene: “I’ve always wanted to look like this, but seeing this now in front of me makes me realize I’ll always have a problem with my body, because I just thought that my stomach still looks fat. It really shows how being so hypercritical of yourself won’t translate into being more self confident.”
“If you have a problem with how you look that’s a way deeper issue than just changing your outsides.”

Trans Woman Banned From Club’s Bathroom For Not Having Doctor’s Note
A spokesman for the club said he was "trying to protect her as much as the others."
From: NewNowNext
From: NewNowNext
A spokesman for Fever nightclub in Gloucester, England is standing by the club’s decision to bar a transgender women from using the ladies’ restroom because she didn’t have a doctor’s note proving she is transgender.
The woman, 24-year-old Morganna Snow, said she’s been transitioning publicly for less than a year, but she never had an issue using the restroom at Fever until Saturday night, when she was escorted to a single-stall restroom by a bouncer around 1am after patrons complained about her using the women’s restroom.
“It was a horrible feeling being told that. I was made to feel so small and felt violated,” Morganna told the Gloucestershire Citizen. “It made me feel like what I was doing was wrong, but to me using the men’s toilets can be quite frightening.”
She added: “At the end of the day I think wherever you feel most comfortable should be where you are allowed to go. I might not look like a woman on the outside but up here I am a woman. And for somebody to take that away from me – I didn’t feel like a woman.”
Morganna also claims the bouncer who escorted her to the private restroom “slapped her on the bum,” and that the restroom didn’t have a functioning lock, which made her feel vulnerable and scared of potentially being humiliated by someone barging in.
Morganna said the incident made her feel like her “human rights had been taken away.”
“I was made to feel like I had a disability, but being transgender isn’t a disability,” she said.
A spokesperson for the club confirmed that Morganna was asked to use a single-stall restroom because more than 20 patrons had complained.
“I feel sorry for her but at the same time I had up to 20 female customers coming to me with complaints that there was a man in the women’s toilets and they felt uncomfortable,” he said.
Furthermore, the spokesperson said Morganna would have been allowed to use the women’s restroom if she had a doctor’s note.
“If she was in possession of a doctor’s note that explained she was going through transition then of course, we would allow her to use the toilets as we have done for other customers in the past that are going through the transition,” he said. “And, with the doctor’s note, I could then easily turn around to the other customers who were complaining and explain the situation and explain why it was allowed.”
“I was trying to protect her as much as the others.”

Trans Man Featured In Latest THINX Period Underwear Ad
"We thought it was high time that people see a menstruating trans man 10-feet tall in the subway."From: NewNowNext
THINX, the underwear company specializing in period-proof panties, just launched a new campaign designed to destigmatize menstruation, and they just hired trans model Sawyer DeVuyst to help them do it.
The images of the models in the ads will be flipped on their sides or upside down to symbolize THINX’s effort to shift “the perspective on periods,” and the unique campaign will mark the first time an ad for a menstruation product features a trans man.
The company’s CEO, Miki Agrawal, said including DeVuyst was a significant part of the campaign, as they are also attempting to make people aware that menstruation isn’t just an issue facing women.
“We thought it was high time that people see a menstruating trans man 10-feet tall in the subway,” Agrawal said.
“We’re hoping this is another step in normalizing periods in the public sphere,” she continued about the company, which already sells boy short period underwear for men. “Just as with any of our other campaigns, it’s going to be a little jarring to have it plastered all over somewhere as bustling as Union Square, but that’s what it takes to break taboos.”
Tom Daley finally explains why his speedos have to be so small
Gay Olympic diver ends the debate on whether it's practical or whether he's just showing off...
From: Gay Star News
From: Gay Star News
Why are Tom Daley’s speedos so small? We know you’re dying to know.
The Olympic diver, who will represent the UK in Rio 2016, has explained the reasons behind his pool attire, which he says is practical rather than performative.
‘They have to be small because everything has to stay in place,’ he revealed on The Graham Norton Show, due to air this evening (20 May).
‘If you’re spinning around the last thing, you want to do is have something come out of place! And when you hit the water you don’t want things flapping about because it would hurt.’
A photo posted by Tom Daley (@tomdaley1994) on
Daley said he is back to training six hours a day, six days a week for his training routine for the upcoming Olympics.
‘It is terrifying that you train for four years just for that one moment. You get six dives and if you mess one up, it’s all over. It’s a pretty cutthroat thing.’
Jodie Foster, Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling and Greg Davies will also appear on The Graham Norton Show, as well as a performance from gay singers Bright Light Bright Light and Elton John.

“Just like RuPaul’s Drag Race,, “Find Your Magic” challenges outdated notions of masculinity and sends a message that guys can be what they want, dress how they want, love who they want and live fiercely. ”
“Sometimes being your most authentic self involves accepting others for who they are,” Bob said about the spot. “Maybe this ad can inspire someone to be the best they can be.”

I had not heard of the television show Banshee until seeing some shots of actor Chris Coy from a recent episode. The show is on Cinemax, a network I don't get. I did however... realize I can watch it on my On Demand, so will have to catch up given the drama is now in it's 4th season.
I was a fan however, of the incredibly sexy Coy who I watched on Treme and as Barry on True Blood. Even covered in fake blood and fake tats, (after just having committed and incredibly violent act), Coy was still hot has hell walking into the bedroom...
