Page 1 Roundup (06/04/2017)

From: kenneth in the (212)
I'm heartbroken for Britain, which has been the target of three deadly terror attacks in as many months. Now that we know that neither pretending there isn't a problem nor calling all Muslims terrorists isn't fixing things, does anyone have any actual idea how we combat this deadly form of counterculture?
My gut tells me there really isn't anything we can do, other than try to stop attacks before they happen. And scarily, Trump doesn't believe in any of our intelligence agencies, opting for The Drudge Report as his major source of information.
I'd say it's just as unfair to criticize Trump for playing golf during a crisis as it was to criticize Obama for doing the same -- except it was the current golfer in chief who was constantly ripping into him. Furthermore, Obama never claimed to have a "secret plan to defeat ISIS" in 30 days that was "foolproof." (Is that still a secret????) Apparently all we can do is wait for this administration to end.

George Michael ‘Sexual Freedom Party’ to be Held at London Park Where He Used to Cruise Men

From: Towleroad
A “Sexual Freedom Party” in honor of George Michael is being planned for April 8 on Hampstead Heath, the London park and well-known gay cruising area where Michael used to pick up men.

The party was announced by the Camden LGBT Forum and Queer Tours of London.

They write:

In the week that George Michael was finally laid to rest Camden LGBT Forum in partnership with Queer Tours of London announce they are working together to organise this event as part of a programme of activity that also marks the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1967. While the passing of this law was a momentous moment in our history we know far too well that it wasn’t the end of the struggle.
This fact is highlighted very clearly by the fact that such a confident and successful individual as George Michael still found it impossible to be open about his sexuality in the late 1990’s.  His sexuality was used to both criminalise and humiliate him; sadly despite his and many others who have bravely fought back this still goes on for so many of us.  So we want to use this celebration of one of the LGBTQIA+ community’s finest to continue to challenge the barriers that still remain.

Said Queer Tours of London organizer Nell Andrew: “No longer with us but with presence stronger than ever, we gather at the world famous cruising  area on Hampstead Heath, to ‘Go Outside’ in honour of George Michael.  It will be a celebration of how he too back control after a very nasty public outing and turned it into a celebration of sexuality and sexual freedoms with the song Outside and his every statement and action following this episode said screw the judgement of others. We dance and sing and roll together and shout out, in the immortal words of George, “This Is My Culture!”

Photographs that Pick Apart Gay Archetypes of the 1970s

A current show of Hal Fischer’s photography at Project Native Informant confirms a renewed interest in gay life in the 1970s.

In a scene of William Friedkin’s movie Cruising (1980) Al Pacino, who plays a straight New York officer who is under cover to investigate a series of murders linked to the gay S&M scene, goes in a sex shop. Puzzled by a display of colored handkerchiefs, he asks a sales assistant what they are for. The obviously bored reply is a very detailed one: “A light blue hanky in your left back pocket means you want a blow job; right pocket means you give one. The green one: left side says you’re a hustler; right side you’re a buyer. The yellow one: left side means you give golden shower; right side you receive.”

The hanky code discovered by this fictional officer was in a fact widely used in the US during the 1970s by gay men looking for casual sex. Men with colored hankies in their jeans pockets could be spotted in numerous gay clubs and in the streets of major urban areas.

Around that time, Hal Fischer, who had moved from Chicago to San Francisco to study photography and was getting involved in art criticism, was experiencing the vibrant gay community of the Castro and Haight-Ashbury districts. In February 1977, Fisher started to work on a series of black and white photographs documenting the “signaling devices found in the gay community”, as he later described his research. Combining images with text and captions printed into the photographs, Fisher consciously employed semiotics (the study of signs and symbols) to deconstruct some of the codes used by the San Francisco gay community to find and select sexual partners:

Traditionally western societies have utilized signifiers for non-accessibility. The wedding ring, engagement ring, lavaliere, or pin are signifiers for non-availability which are always attached to women. Signs for availability simply do not exist. In gay culture, the reverse is true. Signifiers exist for accessibility.

The resulting series of photographs is often witty, with a subtle irony coming from the contrast between the erotically charged nature of the pictures and the clinical style of the captions, reminiscent of a medical book.

After describing in great detail the meaning of a red handkerchief, the author feels the need to warn his readers that “red handkerchiefs are also employed in the treatment of nasal discharge and in some cases may have no significance in regard to sexual contact.”

 (1977, printed 2014)

Fischer’s self-described “Jewish humor” involves a good dose of self-criticism, and critique of the very methodologies of semiotics itself, which by the late 1970s, had been well embraced by artists and academics.

Fischer’s pictures were first exhibited in San Francisco’s Lawson de Celle Gallery in 1977, and then published by Los Angeles’s Cherry and Martin the following year, in a book titled Gay Semiotics. The publication was successful and had a wide circulation back then, but once it went out of print, it became a rarity, until a second edition was released in 2015. In the meantime, the pictures had been included in exhibitions at MOCA, Los Angeles, and SFMOMA, San Francisco.

The current show of Fischer’s photography at Project Native Informant, in London, includes different bodies of works from that period and confirms a renewed interest in gay life in the 1970s, the hedonistic pre–AIDS crisis era characterized by sexual freedom. A further sign of a resurgence of interest in Fischer’s work is the recent music video for the song House of Air by Australian musician Brendan Maclean, which went viral on YouTube before it got removed. The clip unapologetically borrows Fischer’s aesthetics, adding color — both literally and metaphorically — to it.

A series of portraits of men exemplifying what Fischer calls “archetypal gay images” is also included in the show. In this series, the photographer identifies five basic archetypes, derived from the erotic imagery established in gay magazines, connecting them with specific elements of American culture. If the origins of some of these are almost cliché, like the “cowboy prototype,” some others are less immediate. For instance, Fischer links a “natural prototype,” illustrated by an attractive naked man surrounded by conifer, with the American folk tradition. In particular, he mentions the 19th century idea of a virile individual in communion with nature that is expressed in literature by Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman, and Mark Twain, and in figurative art by Thomas Eakins.

Following a similar intention, some pictures illustrate the gay street fashion of men hanging out in Castro, revealing a great deal about gay subculture. While these portraits today may remind one of the street style photography of fashion blogs or American Apparel ads, their main source of inspiration is, quite evidently, August Sander’s ambitious project People of the 20th Century. Adopting the rigorous documentary approach of the New Objectivity, the German photographer famously spent decades, from the early 1920s to his death in 1964, taking an exhaustive visual record of German people, from beggars to industrialists. People of the 20th Century became an invaluable document of pre-Nazi Germany, its portraits divided into categories meticulously showing, in the words of its creator, “all the characteristics of the universally human.” With little textual information — the only indications about the people portrayed are in the titles which name their profession — the photographer invites one to read the images through the clothes and poses of his models.

In the same way Sander travelled around Germany looking for human archetypes, Fischer went out in the street looking at his friends, identifying different types coded through clothes, from the “forties funk” to the “hippie” and the “uniform man.”

Hal Fischer, “Street Fashion – Jock” from Gay Semiotics
(1977, printed 2014),
carbon pigment print, 24 prints in handmade case with denim covering, each print:
20 x 16 inches (50.80 x 40.64 cm)
Fischer is very generous in labelling every prominent element in the look of these types: the satin gym shorts of the “jock,” the boots of the “leather,” and the Levis jeans of the “basic gay,” which all contribute to shape the different characters. Poses are also telling: there couldn’t be more difference between the flirty attitude of the “jock” and the hyper-masculine posture of the “leather.” Keeping a levity that never fails to make the work enjoyable, sexual identities and desires are thus collected, anatomized, and classified.

Gay Semiotics never intended to be a complete catalog of gay archetypes. It is, rather, a celebration of a delimited group of people acting in a particular time and space.

Fischer gave up photography in the early 1980s and although he has been asked to revisit his project, he has refused. Documents are pertinent only if they relate to a defined experience. Yet, it is the nature of signs to shift in significance.

Approaching today’s gay communities — anywhere in the world — with intentions similar to Fischer’s would be a fascinating exercise. The expanse of meaning always waits to be unfolded.

This Openly Gay Priest Had The Perfect Response To Vandals Who Stole His Church’s Pride Flags

“How dare they try and silence who we are and what we believe."
From: NewNowNext
An openly gay Church of England priest is refusing to cower in the face of vandals who tore down the LGBT and transgender pride flags from his church in north London.

Father Andrew Foreshew-Cain, vicar of the St. Mary With All Souls church in Kilburn, discovered the flags had been removed early Monday morning.

The priest told BuzzFeed that they’d been flying just hours before as he led the final Sunday services at his progressive, pro-LGBT church.

“They must have brought a ladder because it’s quite high,” he remarked. “They’d have needed to get up there to cut the ropes and wheel it down. It’s not an accident, they haven’t blown away; it’s been done deliberately.”

Though he admits to feeling stunned when he first noticed the flags were gone, his feelings quickly turned to anger.

“How dare they try and silence who we are and what we believe and think that’s an acceptable response,” he commented. “Engage in debate all you like, tell me I’m wrong to my face all you like, but don’t vandalize my church.”

The Father later took to Twitter to express his unwillingness to bend to anti-LGBT naysayers.

Foreshew-Cain’s inclusive Anglican church began flying the LGBT pride flag in early 2015, adding the transgender pride flag this past March.

“Mostly the reaction has been enormously positive, and when we put the flags up photographs were taken and were retweeted a lot with a lot of very positive comments,” he said. “I’ve not had much negative responses at all.”

That’s what’s made this case of vandalism so surprising and troubling.

“It’s an attempt to bully and silence,” he explained. “It’s unsettling; it makes you feel…unsafe.”

Foreshew-Cain (on the right, in the picture left) is no stranger to feeling unsafe; as the first practicing vicar to marry another man, he’s faced incessant bullying from homophobic Christians.

“I’ve been attacked on the street,” he said, “I’ve been spat at, I regularly get called names. Only a few weeks ago I was walking along the street in a dog collar with a friend and got homophobic abuse shouted at me. They used the word ‘poofter.’”

In spite of this recent hiccup, Foreshew-Cain planed to go ahead with the first London meeting of Open Table, a new worship service “for queer Christians, led by queer Christians.” The initiative began in Liverpool and has since spread throughout the UK.

“My personal motto is ‘No surrender’,” he said. “Gay and lesbian people are not going away in the church. You can cut our flags down, you can refuse to licence us as priests, you can refuse to ordain us as clergy, but we’re already in the church. Get over it. We’re not going anywhere.”

New London skyscraper looks like a massive penis and balls

From: METRO
Spire London is expected to open in 2020
With Londoners’ propensity to rebel and give skyscrapers their own nicknames (think the gherkin, cheese grater, and walkie talkie), the designers of the next skyscraper maybe should have perhaps had a rethink
.
It is officially being called Spire London, but it’s been pointed out it actually resembles a massive penis.

The 67-story building is going to be located in the Isle of Dogs and open in 2020.

Other names that it’s already been given are the Towering Innuendo and the Crystal Phallus.

We think it should just be nicknamed The Penis. Nice and simple.

A Chinese developer has unveiled
a new £800 MILLION London skyscraper
which will be the tallest residential building
in Western Europe

The Spire is located in the Isle of Dogs
What’s most interesting about The Penis is that it is located near the flight path to City Airport. So that’ll be quite the welcome for arrivals from far and wide!

To buy one of the 765 luxury flats inside the giant peen, you’ll need upwards of £595,000.

Residents who live in the Spire will have access to an infinity pool, a gym, cinema and a cocktail bar.

The schlong-shaped £800 million building is the brain child of Greenland Group, a Chinese company and construction is due to start later this year.

Cooking With Semen Classes Are Now An Actual Thing

From: Unilad
In news that’s sure to turn a few stomachs, a chef is planning on starting a cooking class where the secret ingredient is semen.

The class, which will open in London, will teach its students how to use semen as an ingredient in a three course meal complete along with drinks, The Independent reports.

Those attending the class will be asked to bring either their own ‘sample’, or that of a partners, to use in the class where they’ll make jerked chicken and schlong island iced tea – no we’re not making those names up.

As weird as it sounds this isn’t the first time that semen and food have ‘come’ together.  A book called Natural Harvest by Paul Phoenhauer has a number of ‘mouth watering’ recipes for cooking with semen and currently has four stars on Amazon.

Sex expert Alix Fox, recruited to promote the event, said:

While this will doubtless appall many people, some individuals find the idea of consuming such an intimate substance an incredible turn-on.
I guess when you consider that humans regularly consume eggs – which are essentially the product of a chicken menstruating – eating a partner’s semen doesn’t seem quite so round the twist.

Those interested in eating jizz are being asked to register their interest, and if more than 30 people apply (good luck) then the class will go ahead.

The Independent though have cast doubt on the whole class saying ‘it’s unclear just how serious the whole project is’ adding that the press release announcing the event heavily plugs a new events booking service..

If it is a publicity stunt it worked at least…

Accused Serial Killer Poisoned, Raped Transgender Man After He Passed Out

The man said he was "disgusted" to learn he'd been raped and recorded.
From: NewNowNext
A transgender man who was raped by accused serial killer Stephen Port told London’s Old Bailey court this week that he was “disgusted” after learning Port had sex with his unconscious body and filmed it on his iPhone.

“I felt angry because you don’t carry on having sex with someone when they pass out,” the 41-year-old man said.

The victim, who said he met port on Facebook and spent the night with him to get back at an unfaithful boyfriend, recalled having three or four vodka Cokes that were prepared by Port before he passed out that night.

“He video recorded it using his phone,” the victim added.

“I just thought he was disgusting and vile. He thought it was fine. He thought it was funny.”

Port stands accused of using Facebook to lure a handful of young gay men to his London apartment over a period of 14 months beginning in 2011, where he poisoned, raped, and murdered at least four of them, burying their bodies in parks near his home.

Port had at least eight more victims that survived a terrifying night in his home, including the transgender man who testified this week.

Port faces 29 charges including rape, murder, and administering a poison with intent to endanger life or inflict grievous bodily harm, and has pleaded not guilty to them all.

One of London’s Oldest Gay Bars is Pouring its Last Pint

From: Towleroad
One of London’s oldest gay bars is closing next month, after the pub’s owners failed to come to an agreement with their landlord.

The Old Lady of Tryon Street — officially known as The Queen’s Head — confirmed the rumor on its Facebook page. “We’re bloody gutted,” the post reads.

The bar itself is almost two centuries old. Freddy Sipson, who has managed The Queen’s Head for seven years, says it’s been known as a gay bar since about the 1920s.

“We used to have the army barracks here, and soldiers used to come and frequent the bar,” Sipson says. “The gay community realized that, and so from then on it started to become a gay bar.”

The dispute behind the closing of The Queen’s Head might seem specific, but it comes after a year of prominent gay bars closing abruptly across London.

It’s hard to say exactly why.

One theory is that the gay bars may not be needed today as they once were, as mainstream society becomes more accepting of homosexuality.

“A lot of the younger gay people feel like they don’t need to go to the gay bars like we used to do back in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s — places where [we] would be ourselves and discover ourselves,” Sipson says. “The older generation like myself, we’re dying out.”

The Queen’s Head own clientele suggests that a change has taken place.

For many years, straight bar patrons self-segregated. Heterosexual people generally mingled in one section, and the rest of the bar belonged to the LGBT community. But today, Sipson says, the barriers are down.

Another factor could be the rise of online dating apps like Grindr or Tinder. Gay bars once provided rare opportunities for LGBT people to meet.

“Today they don’t have to” visit the bar to meet partners, Sipson says. “They just have to get on their phones, find a picture and off they go.”

But gay bars aren’t the only ones closing. The number of UK pubs of any kind is down from 67,800 in 1982 to 51,900 in 2014, according to the latest data from The British Beer and Pub Association.

“Public houses in total are closing at an alarming rate because they’re standing on prime real estate that can be made into extremely luxury apartments,” Sipson says.

And a few old favorites are hanging on.

Just across town from The Queen’s Head in Soho, a well-known gay bar called The Yard just won a two-year battle to stay open.

The two pubs faced almost identical situations. Developers wanted to build apartments in The Yard’s courtyard. But heritage and historical groups protested the proposal, and a local council blocked the redevelopment completely.

The bar is hosting a farewell party on Sept. 3, and will vacate the property by Sept. 13.

Alleged Grindr Serial Killer Charged With Eight More Attacks

He now faces a total of 29 charges, including rape, murder and administering poison.
From: NewNowNext
Stephen Port, the man charged with the alleged murders of four gay men in London last year, now faces additional rape and poisoning charges after eight survivors of his reported attacks have stepped forward.

The 41-year-old chef was originally accused of using Grindr to meet and then kill four gay men in their 20s by poisoning them with lethal doses of GHB.

But when he appeared in court Monday, Port was faced with several new charges from eight survivors of alleged attacks that took place between 2011 and 2015.

In addition to the original manslaughter, murder and poisoning charges, the alleged serial killer will now face seven counts of rape, four of sexual assault and six extra counts of poisoning, bringing the total number of charges to 29.

Port denied all the charges during his pre-trial hearing on Monday and the trial is now set to begin on October 4.

London Commuters Slam Homophobe Abusing A Gay Couple On The Tube

"Get off the train...or I'm going to knock you out!"
From: NewNowNext
A new social experiment conducted by YouTuber Julius Dein exposes how average commuters would react in the face of blatant homophobia on the subway.

For the experiment, Dein took to the London tube with his friends Adam and Josh. “They’re going to be a couple, I’m going to be homophobic, and we’re going to test people’s reactions,” he explains at the beginning of the video.

Once they’re on the tube, Dein hurls homophobic abuse at the couple as they hold hands and cuddle.

Fortunately, the reactions from random bystanders are largely positive and in favor of the couple. An impressive majority actually stand up to defend the couple and one man — bless his soul — gets so wound up that he threatens to “knock [Dein] out.”

However one man agrees with Dein, and joins in the homophobic abuse as he ridicules the couple while they’re seated at a bench minding their own business.

“If you’re gonna do that, do it somewhere else,” the man yells at the couple, referring to their hand holding. He turns to Dein and yells, “They got more rights than we have nowadays!”

At the very least, it’s good to know he’s in the minority.

Exes React To Policeman’s Proposal At London Pride

Bitter, party of two? Your table is ready.
From: NewNowNext
In the middle of London Pride last weekend, a police officer got down on one knee to propose to his boyfriend.

Video of the proposal quickly went viral, becoming a symbol of Pride. As the LGBT world gushed, though, the exes of the two fiancés had a different reaction.

Jacob, who used to go out with the man proposed to by the police officer, tweeted about being bombarded by images of the happy couple.

Less than 24 hours later, a man named Matt stepped forward to say he knew exactly how Jacob felt—because the police officer in the photo (Phil) was once his own fiancé.

In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Matt and Jacob opened up about the awkward situation, while also sending their heartfelt congratulations to their newly-engaged exes.

“When I saw Jacob’s tweet,” began Phil, “I thought it was funny that someone else had their timeline overtaken with videos of their ex’s proposal too.” When asked if he’d reach out to Phil now, he said, “I haven’t spoken to him in a while but am sure I’ll be sending him a congratulatory text.”

For his part, Jacob said he was “really…genuinely happy for Jonathan,” explaining that his tweet was “more just a little quip” as he’d seen the video shared “a thousand times across every channel” of social media.

Check out the video that inspired the hilarious Twitter exchange below.

Police Officers Propose To Boyfriends During London Pride

One of them even stopped the parade just to pop the question.
From: NewNowNext
While police officers watched over the crowds of London’s Gay Pride to keep them safe, the celebration of love inspired two of those cops to propose to their boyfriends.

Metropolitan LGBT Network, a staff association for LGBT police officers, posted both proposals on Twitter to spread the officers’ good news.

The first cop even stopped the parade to propose to his boyfriend who was watching on the sidelines.

And the second proposal was actually from one cop to another.

A bystander captured a great video of the proposal that halted the parade and you can check it out below.

Starbucks Celebrates London Pride With Rainbow Latte Art

It's enough to make us consider changing our order!
From: NewNowNext
Starbucks is one of the sponsors of Pride in London this weekend and is getting the word out with a new video featuring LGBT baristas whipping up some enthusiasm for the company.

The coffee purveyor also created some colorful rainbow latte art for the occassion—though we wonder if you can order them in-store.

“We are delighted to be joining together to celebrate Pride in London again this year,” said Lisa Robbins, director of partner resources at Starbucks. “We embrace diversity and offer the platform for our partners to shine and be proud of who they are.”

The theme for this year’s London Pride celebration is #NoFilter, with participants encouraged to live authentic lives without hiding who they are, and Starbucks staff will take part in Saturday’s parade through central London.

The company has been vocal in its support of the LGBT community, hoisting the rainbow flag over its Seattle HQ every June, backing federal marriage equality, and inviting trans customers and staff to use the facilities that match their gender identity.

In 2014, Starbucks produced an ad in Canada featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race queens Bianca Del Rio and Adore Delano.

Jesse Eisenberg Tells Off Anti-Gay Troll At London Pride

"So fucked up."
From: NewNowNext
Sadly, it’s hardly news that there were anti-gay protesters spreading hate at London’s Gay Pride Festival over the weekend, but actor Jesse Eisenberg was still shocked at the hateful display when he passed by.

The 32-year-old Social Network star was pushing a bike through the street near the parade route when he spotted the group of demonstrators speaking into microphones and holding signs with Bible quotes.

He stopped to see what they were doing when one of the men asked him, “Is your mind closed?”

“Is my mind closed?” said Eisenberg, before walking away in disgust. “So fucked up.”

The actor is in London performing in a play he wrote called The Spoils, and you can watch his run-in with the bigots below.

UK Supermarket Tesco Rearranges Fruit Display In Rainbow Colors For Pride

Tesco knows how to get into the spirit!
From: NewNowNext
Though the UK-based mega-chain Tesco has been involved in London Pride for many years, this year, the supermarket brand stepped up its game by becoming an official sponsor of the event. The chain plans to commemorate this new commitment with rainbow-colored window displays, specialty Pride t-shirts and a 40-foot delivery truck, complete with a dance floor, bubble machine and DJ, that will ride in the parade.

In addition to their Pride swag, Tesco will also provide lunches to the 900 volunteers helping to make the weekend run smoothly as well as funds to LGBT Switchboard, the oldest LGBT hotline in the UK. 500 London stores have been busy through the month of June raising money for the organization by hosting specialty cocktail hours and performances by the London Gay Men’s Chorus.

John Dickinson, Out at Tesco Chair, adds: “We know Pride in London is such a fun and vibrant event and that’s why we’re proud to be an official sponsor this year. Over 200 of our colleagues will be taking part in the parade and twelve stores along the route will also be getting into the spirit with special Pride-themed signs, balloons and carrier bags.”

The Pride in London Parade will take place this Saturday, June 25, from 1 pm to 4:30 pm.

London Installs LGBT Traffic Lights For Pride

"These new signals...display the tolerance and celebration of difference in our city."
From: NewNowNext
For the first time, London will be lighting up its crosswalks with LGBT-inspired traffic lights to celebrate Pride.

Approximately 50 crosswalk signals around Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster have gotten the LGBT makeover, which sees each crosswalk transformed with one of seven unique designs (pictured below). The designs include images of same-sex couples joining hands to form a heart as well as the universal symbol for the trans movement.

The project has been enthusiastically backed by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who believes the traffic lights embody “one of the greatest things about this city, [which] is our differences. Every Londoner,” he adds, “should be proud of who they are.”

The crosswalk symbols appear at an interesting time for the LGBT community. Following the recent mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Khan hopes the public display will demonstrate his and the entire city’s desire to stand in solidarity with the victims and their families.

“Our thoughts and prayers are of course still with the families and friends of the victims of the hideous recent attack in Orlando. These new signals show that we stand shoulder to shoulder with them and display the tolerance and celebration of difference in our city.”

This is the first major LGBT initiative for Mayor Khan, who took office just this year. The lights will be on display for the latter half of London Pride, from June 19 to June 26.

Drag Queen Surprises Commuters With Live Performance In Busy London Train Station

“With everything we’ve seen in the media this week, I thought we could all use a little music to brighten the day.”
From: NewNowNext
It’s been an emotional week following last Sunday’s horrific massacre in Orlando, and one in which the LGBT community has been looking for joy wherever it can be found.

London drag queen Vanity von Glow was looking to spread that joy recently, when she sat down at a piano at King’s Cross St. Pancras station and began to sing Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One.”

“I just felt like passing the time at St. Pancras with a little tinkle on the piano,” said Vanity. “With everything we’ve seen in the media this week, I thought we could all use a little music to brighten the day.”

It seemed to work, as commuters stopped to listen and film the performance as they passed through the busy station.

Check out her impromptu performance below.
