'I enjoy on some level that folks are confused by me. And, to some extent, the life firewall makes me able to keep doing this.'

Have you ever wanted to be seen, but not known? It is an interesting dilemma, many of us have felt from time to time.  Most of us want our hard work seen, we crave appreciation and respect for what we'e put in. This doesn't mean however, that everyone requires the spotlight.  For some, the light is too intense, too bright, too much.  For an infinite number reasons, many wish to stay in the wings, acknowledged, respected, but protected.

Although most (sadly not all...) have felt this way from time to time, I think it is often experienced by artists, actors and models.  Each of these professions requires giving.  The sharing of self and a vulnerability of emotion through the work they produce.

I think in some ways FH is a representation of this for me.  Over the years I have shared almost every aspect of my life, my struggles, my battles and my success.  I have not this however, but writing directly about them.  I have chosen, to weave them within my commentaries of art.  I have controlled their release, managed how much, and how often I lay out and expose.

Many male models physically reveal everything.  We see every inch of their body, their skin, their penis, their scars, tattoos and veins.  We judge size, and muscle mass, body and facial hair.  Although we everything, we really don't know anything.  We think we do, sometimes the eyes give hints to the soul, other times, with a skilled model, they only show what the man behind them wants us to see.

The first image of Damian that I saw, physically...exposed everything. His incredibly structured face, his intensely beautiful 'stare right through/to you blue eyes, led me to assume things that I had no idea whether or not are true. I did get to know Damian a little bit more through our communication, but what I learned is not shared in this post. 'I'm a model, a largely naked, often sexualized one.' But... that's when the camera's on him. When the shoot's over, and his clothes are back on.... Damian slips into the wings, backstage, letting his created visuals remain in view. Until the next performance, see more of Damian's reveal on his Instagram HERE:

Prince William Appears On The Cover Of "Attitude Magazine"

"No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason."
From: NewNowNext
In a history-making turn, Prince William has become the first member of the British royal family to grace the cover of an LGBT magazine.

Early last month, His Royal Highness invited Attitude magazine and members of UK’s LGBT community to Kensington Palace in order to have a discussion about their experiences with bullying and homophobia, with a specific focus on how these experiences impact the mental, physical and emotional health of LGBT individuals.

“No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason and no one should have to put up with the kind of hate these young people have endured in their lives,” the Prince said in a statement made after the discussion.

“The young gay, lesbian and transgender individuals I met through Attitude are truly brave to speak out and to give hope to people who are going through terrible bullying right now.” He went on to acknowledge the power of their “strength and optimism” and how it should motivate “us all…to stand up to bullying wherever we see it.”

“What I would say to any young person reading this who’d been bullied for their sexuality: don’t put up with it…You should be proud of the person you are and you have nothing to be ashamed of,” his statement concluded.

In reflecting on his meeting with Prince William, Attitude editor and discussion moderator Matthew Todd said that he was “very happy that the future King of the United Kingdom agrees that this must stop.” He adds that he “would urge parents…to raise their voices in their communities to ensure that every school protects—really protects—all children.”

Though the Prince might be the first British royal to lend his face to the cover of an LGBT publication, he’s not the first royal in history to do so. That distinction belongs to King Felipe VI of Spain who posed for LGBT Spanish magazine Ragap in January 2015.

The Prince’s full feature, along with an extended photo gallery, will be available in the magazine’s July issue.

Patrons At Gay Bar In Stockton Shot With Paintballs The Same Night As Orlando Attack

“I never really felt unsafe, especially here—it’s kind of a 'home' atmosphere."
From: NewNowNext
Another case of violence against patrons at a gay club: Early Sunday morning, the same time a gunman opened fire on Pulse nightclub in Orlando, customers at Paradise in Stockton, California, where hit with paintballs.

An unnamed 26-year-old woman told police she was hit in the arm, while a 27-year-old man was shot in the back. The two gave San Joaquin County police officers a description of the vehicle where the shooter came from.

The assault comes about a month after Paradise’s facade was shot up with paintballs.

“I’m just unhappy and angry with the situation,” clubgoer Robert Greenlee told CBS 13. “I never really felt unsafe, especially here—it’s kind of a home atmosphere. It’s always been safe and people here know their surroundings.”

“We have a pride center now and it’s created a lot of safety within people,” he added. “To take away that safety from the younger generation that has never experienced this is what make me angry the most.”

Also on Sunday, a man who claimed he was heading to L.A. Pride was discovered with loaded assault rifles, tasers and 25lbs of explosives in his car.

Pat Robertson: Christians Need To Just Let Muslims And Homosexuals Kill Each Other Off

"The left is saying, ‘Oh you’re anti-Muslim, you’re racist,’" said the televangelist. "[But] suddenly, that part of the narrative doesn’t play too well."
From: NewNowNext
Right-wing preacher Pat Robertson was about to let the deaths of 49 innocent people get in the way of his tarring LGBT people.

On Tuesday’s episode of The 700 Club, Robertson explained that liberals are “facing a dilemma” because the Orlando shooter declared some allegiance to radical Islam.

We’re looking at a favored group by the left, the homosexuals—that in Islam is punishable by death or imprisonment or some sanction. So what are the left going to do? How are they going to describe it? And they don’t know quite what to do now.
The fact that this Islamic gentleman opens fire in a gay nightclub and kills almost 50 homosexuals, that says something and tells the fact that Islam is against homosexuality. So the liberals are going to be scrambling to find some rationale, I think they’re going to have a hard time doing it.

Don’t worry, though—Robertson has a solution: “I think for those of us who disagree with some of their policies, the best thing to do is to sit on the sidelines and let them kill themselves.”

It’s funny how the televangelist decries Islam for being homophobic, given how much vitriol he’s spewed at the LGBT community. (And by funny we mean nauseating)

And in some truly amazing logical jujitsu, Robertson blames liberals’ support of law-abiding Muslim-Americans for the rise of Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump is riding high because he said we should screen these people and he’s absolutely right. We should screen them. So the left is saying, ‘Oh you’re anti-Muslim, you’re racist’ and all this. Suddenly, that part of the narrative doesn’t play too well and they’re stuck as to what to do. But Trump is enjoying a victory.”

Translation: “If you like Donald Trump, I support him. If you don’t like Donald Trump, it’s the lefties fault he’s the nominee.”

Oh Heavenly Father, when will you finally summon Pat home?

Owner Of Pulse Nightclub Speaks Out, Vows To Reopen

“We’re not going to let someone take this away from us.”
From: NewNowNext
Barbara Poma, the owner of Pulse nightclub in Orlando sat down with NBC’s Today for the first time to speak about the mass shooting that happened at her club on Sunday.

Poma opened the club 13 years ago in honor of her gay brother who died of HIV-related illness. She said that Pulse was supposed to be a “safe place to be who you are.”

Matt Lauer asked her what it was like to receive the call on Sunday morning about the massacre at the venue. “It was the most surreal phone call I’ve ever received,” Poma told Lauer. “When my manager called me, he just kept yelling into the phone: ’We have a shooter. We have a shooter.’ Finally it sunk in, and you can’t wrap your head around that.”

Poma told Today that she lost one employee in the attack, Kimberly “KJ” Morris, the bouncer who had been working at the club for a month, but seemed to fit in with the family she had built there.

“We just weren’t a place to work. We work together towards a certain goal, a mission, and we do that together. And now we mourn together,” she said.

Poma also vows to reopen the club as as tribute to the victims. “We just welcome those families into our family, and we just have to move forward and find a way to keep their hearts beating and the spirit alive,” she said. “We’re not going to let someone take this away from us.”

macpics: So Many Men, So Little Water....

From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things
'If there were one room in your home which held all your secrets it would be the bathroom...'
Tye Briggs, 2011

Back in 2011, while profiling the work of photographer John Fallon, (Executing A Vision) I went into the bathroom, locked the door, and examined how so much of who we are, and who we try to be, begins and ends in the bathroom.
Bathrooms, and especially showers, are often used in shoots focused on the male form.  In part, this is because bathrooms are a part of almost every location, home, studio's and for many, especially hotel and motel rooms.  Bathrooms are also the room in our homes we are the most intimate with our bodies and ourselves.

When returning to the work of macpics, I decided this time, instead of focusing on one of his many models shoots, to instead jump into the shower. As you can see, many men have have gotten naked (or mostly naked) and posed, and cleaned off, in the Australian photographer's shower.

Here are some of my favorite's, some of the models I have featured before, some have never been showcased on FH before.  Enjoy, and try not to get wet!
