Imagine Dragons, Nate Ruess, raise $700,000 at Orlando Benefit Concert
Held at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, the All is One Orlando Unity Concert benefited the OneOrlando Fund, which assists survivors and families of victims of the attack. The show reportedly raised at least $700,000.
The Manchester bombing benefit concert Ariana Grande announced she’d do last week is happening today and features Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell, Take That, Niall Horan, and Katy Perry, according to TMZ:
Sources connected with the event tell us the charity concert is being held at the Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester … the same place Beyonce performed last July.
The concert will raise money for the victims and families of the terrorist bombing which took 22 lives and injured more than 50 others.
Ariana Grande has announced a One Love Manchester benefit for the victims of last week's suicide bombing outside her Dangerous Woman tour stop in Manchester, England.
The concert will take place today, June 4, at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester, a different venue from last week's site.
Along with Grande, stars announced include: Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Usher, Take That and Niall Horan.
All proceeds got to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
Ariana Grande's One Love Manchester benefit concert in honor of the victims of the bombing attack that occurred last month will air on both Freeform and ABC networks in some capacity today.
The concert is set to air Sunday on Freeform at 2 p.m. ET, but will also be on ABC later in the day with a one-hour highlights version following game 2 of the NBA Finals, which is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET.
One Love Manchester will take place at Manchester's Emirates Old Trafford venue and will raise money for victims of the May 22 attack at a Grande concert in the same city. The bombing claimed the lives of 22 and left dozens more injured.
Scheduled acts for the benefit include Grande, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, the Black Eyed Peas, Take That, and One Direction's Niall Horan.
“This Sunday, when Ariana Grande and her friends return to the stage, the world will stand united with families in Manchester and across the United Kingdom,” said Ben Sherwood, president of Disney/ABC Television Group.
Freeform, ABC and ABC News are all part of the Disney Company.
Grande announced the show last week on social media, writing that she had been thinking of her fans "nonstop" and planned to return to the city to spend time with her fans, known as Arianators, there.
"From the day we started putting the Dangerous Woman tour together, I said that this show, more than anything else, was intended to be a safe space for my fans. A place for them to escape, to celebrate, to heal, to feel safe, and to be themselves. This will not change that," Grande said of the attack two weeks ago.
Coldplay, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber are just some of the artists announced for the show

Ariana Grande is returning to Manchester and she’s bringing along some friends.
Tuesday, the “Break Free” singer announced that she would host a benefit concert that will raise money for the victims of the Manchester bombing and their families.
The One Love Manchester show will be held today at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester. Other artists who have agreed to perform include Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, One Direction’s Niall Horan and Usher with more.
Tickets for the tribute concert went on sale this Thursday, June 1, and sold out in 6 minutes. Fans who attended Grande’s Manchester show on May 22 will be given free tickets. Those attending the One Love Manchester show are asked not to bring bags. The concert will also be broadcast live on BBC TV and streamed online.
“Bringing the nation together, the BBC is proud to be broadcasting what will undoubtedly be a moving tribute to the victims and their loved ones,” commented BBC director general Tony Hall.
Following the Manchester attack Grande suspended her Dangerous Woman world tour, including stops at the O2 Arena in London—but promised that she would return to Manchester.
“I’ll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honor and raise money for the victims and their families,” said the 23-year-old pop star.
22 people were killed and 59 others were injured in the explosion at her concert on May 22.
Last night, we were hit with the devastating news that “one of the worst terrorist attacks on the UK” had been committed, when a bomb went off at Ariana Grande’s Manchester leg of her World Tour. The attack is being claimed by member of ISIS as another terrorist attack. Reports have claimed how the bomb detonated in the lobby of the M.E.N Arena, and “nuts and bolts” tore through fans eagerly anticipating the concert.
So far 22 have been confirmed dead, including an 8-year-old girl. And at least 119 have been injured, including 21 other children. Sick supporters of the radicalist group have praised the attack on Twitter, while Ariana and other celebrities have taken to social media to share their condolences.
Grande, said: ‘From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.’ In light of the tragic incident, Grande has postponed her world tour.
Mr. Coats told the senate arms committee that the attack had not yet been verified in association with ISIS, as they “claim responsibility” for every attack of this type. Although a cryptic tweet from an unidentified Twitter account, just hours before the attack, is being investigated – although the account has since been deleted.
Our thoughts, prayers and hearts are with anybody affected by the horrific act of violence. And we urge anybody attending events with a high-volume of people, to be extra cautious – and report anything slightly suspicious to the correct authoritative figure.
Police in Manchester, England, are confirming 22 people died after an explosion went off during an Ariana Grande concert in the city’s main arena. Authorities are still investigating the incident, which also led to at least 50 people being injured.
It’s still not clear if the explosion at Manchester Arena was accidental or the result of a terror attack. One concertgoer said they heard a loud blast at the end of Grande’s set, just after her encore.
“We were all exiting the venue when, around 10:40, 10:45pm, a huge bomb-like bang went off that hugely panicked everyone,” Majid Khan, 22, told the Guardian. “And we were all trying to flee the arena. Everyone was in a huge state of panic, calling each other as some had gone to the toilet whilst this had gone off.”
Fans rushed to the exit on Trinity Way, which was blocked, leading to a mad scramble for any way out.
“[I] just heard a huge bang from my bed, came out to the front of my apartments and everyone was running away in big crowds,” Suzy Mitchell, 26, lives across the street from the Arena and told the Press Association. “The bang was so big I heard it from my room which is at the back of the apartment blocks. Currently lots of emergency services going to and from.”
Greater Manchester police warned people to stay away from the area while the investigate. Grande was not harmed in the incident.
Opened in 1995, the Manchester Arena is located immediately north of the city center in Hunts Bank, directly above Manchester Victoria station. With 21,000 seats it has the biggest capacity of any indoor venue in the United Kingdom, and has hosted top music acts and the sporting events, including the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
