19 Men Go Shirtless And Share Their Body Image Struggles

From: HuffPost
"I'm realistic about my body. I take care of myself and exercise vigorously and regularly, but know that I'm not 30 anymore. I see a lot of guys my age whose bodies look, well, sad, and I am determined not to let that happen.
This is embarrassing, but I will sometimes press my fingers on the side of my stomach to try to convince myself my abs are 'tight.' I don't talk to my friends about body concerns very often. I do notice that most of my friends are married and overweight -- not sure if there's a correlation between those two facts, but as a result, we don't talk much about body issues."

The Johnny Cash Show

The Johnny Cash Show was an American television music variety show hosted by Johnny Cash. The Screen Gems 58-episode series ran from June 7, 1969 to March 31, 1971 on ABC; it was taped at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The show reached No. 17 in the Nielsen ratings in 1970.
Cash opened each show, and its regulars included members of his touring troupe, June Carter Cash (his wife) and the Carter Family, The Statler Brothers, Carl Perkins, and The Tennessee Three, with Australian-born musical director-arranger-conductor Bill Walker. The Statler Brothers performed brief comic interludes.
It featured many folk-country musicians, such as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Kris Kristofferson, Mickey Newbury, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Merle Haggard, James Taylor and Tammy Wynette. It also featured other musicians such as jazz great Louis Armstrong, who died eight months after appearing on the show.

Bob Harper Taking Over as Host of The Biggest Loser After Alison Sweeney's Exit

From: US Weekly
Bob Harper will be wearing two hats, figuratively speaking, when The Biggest Loser returns for its upcoming 17th season. As announced by NBC on Tuesday, Sept. 8, the veteran trainer is replacing Alison Sweeney as host of the weight-loss competition.

"I'm super excited about taking the position of host on The Biggest Loser," Harper, 50, said in a press release about the news. "I've been with the show since Season 1, so I know all of the ins and outs, and let me tell you, the weigh-in room is going to be a completely different ballgame with me at the steering wheel."

According to the release, Harper will still "offer his training expertise to contestants at various points throughout the season," but he'll also be guiding them "through all weigh-ins, challenges, and temptations." Returning stars Dolvett Quince and Jennifer Widerstrom will be the primary trainers.

The news comes after Sweeney's announcement last month that she would not be returning to the franchise for the upcoming cycle. The Days of Our Lives actress, 38, joined the show before 2007's Season 4, and has led 13 groups of contestants since then.

Harper, meanwhile, started as a trainer on The Biggest Loser back in 2004. He is the only person who has been with series since its debut.
Season 17 of The Biggest Loser begins filming this month.

“Colors of the Wind”
Pocahontas
How it relates: In the song, Pocahontas invites John Smith into her world and challenges him to learn instead of relying on the understanding of others. The fear of facing a world that doesn’t understand you, a world that has shaped its opinions on stereotypes and assumptions, keeps a lot of people from coming out. “Colors of the Wind” brings a hope that even the most oblivious of people can learn tolerance.
Takeaway lyric:
“You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You’ll learn things you never knew, you never knew”

The 10 Hottest “Star Trek: Voyager” Guest Stars

From: NewNowNext

Daniel Dae Kim
Episode 6.12, “Blink Of An Eye,” is one of the most underrated episodes of the series, a wonderful blend of sci-fi and poignancy. Voyager is trapped above a planet by a magnetic field, and discover that time is accelerated for the planet’s inhabitants (for every second on Voyager, an entire day goes by down below). Days go by on Voyager, and centuries go by on the planet, until the planet eventually becomes advanced enough to send astronauts to the “sky ship” that has terrified and enthralled them.

Daniel Dae Kim plays one of the astronauts, Gotana Retz, and he shows the same charm and screen presence he would eventually bring to such shows as Lost and Hawaii Five-0. The final scene, in which an elderly Gotana Retz gazes at the night sky as Voyager finally breaks free is one of the great moments in the series.

Ron Amato's 'Armor'

Inspired by a 2009 visit to Florence, Italy, "Armor" is Ron Amato’s response to his observation of how gay men represent themselves on social media. But we, the observers, are allowed to have our own projections about exposure, bondage, and perhaps even torture. Amato's technique is quiet, and the attention to the draping of the fabric feels classical.

Zero Gay Men Contracted HIV After 32 Months On PrEP, Study Finds

“[This] suggests the treatment may prevent new HIV infections even in a high-risk setting."
A new study of more than 600 gay and bisexual men showed 100% of them remained HIV-negative after using PrEp for up to two-and-a-half years.

Conducted at San Francisco’s Kaiser Pemanente Medical Center, the study included men who self-reported that they did not use condoms consistently. Their average age was 37, and they reported a higher number of sex partners than those not on PrEP.

“[This] suggests the treatment may prevent new HIV infections even in a high-risk setting,” researcher Jonathan Volk reported in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases.

Notably, 41% of subjects admitted they used condoms less once they began PrEP, compared to the 56% who said their use of condoms remained consistent.

Thirty percent of participants did, however, contract an STI other than HIV in the first six months of the study. That number jumped 50% to after one year.

“Without a control group, we don’t know if these STI rates were higher than what we would have seen without PrEP,” added co-author Julia Marcus.

“Ongoing screening and treatments for STIs, including hepatitis C, are an essential component,” of any prevention program.

Dark Shadows is an American gothic soap opera that originally aired weekdays on the ABC television network, from June 27, 1966, to April 2, 1971. The show was created by Dan Curtis. The story bible, which was written by Art Wallace, does not mention any supernatural elements. It was unprecedented in daytime television when ghosts were introduced about six months after it began.
The series became hugely popular when vampire Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) appeared a year into its run. Dark Shadows also featured werewolves, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel, and a parallel universe. A small company of actors each played many roles (as actors came and went, some characters were played by more than one actor). Major writers besides Art Wallace included Malcolm Marmorstein, Sam Hall, Gordon Russell, and Violet Welles.
Dark Shadows was distinguished by its vividly melodramatic performances, atmospheric interiors, memorable storylines, numerous dramatic plot twists, unusually adventurous music score, and broad and epic cosmos of characters and heroic adventures. Now regarded as something of a classic, it continues to enjoy an intense cult following. Although the original series ran for only five years, its scheduling as a daily daytime drama allowed it to amass more single episodes during its run (1,225) than most other science-fiction/fantasy genre series produced for English-language television, including Doctor Who and the entire Star Trek television franchise. Only the paranormal soap opera Passions, with a total of 2,231 episodes, has more.
Directors Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino, and pop singer Madonna have publicly stated they are fans of the series. As a child, Johnny Depp was so obsessed with Barnabas Collins that he wanted to be him; he collaborated with Tim Burton on a theatrical film adaptation which opened in 2012, in which he plays Barnabas.
In 2004 and 2007, Dark Shadows was ranked #19 and #23 on TV Guide's Top Cult Shows Ever.

WayBackWednesday: Malachi Marx

From: Dude Tube
As much as I love checking out the latest releases in porn, some days I just can't resist revisiting the classics. This Way Back Wednesday I wanted to check out one of my all-time favorites Randy Blue's Malachi Marx. This Canadian hottie made his debut in 2008 and quickly became one of Randy's most popular models. I especially loved his scene bottoming for Leo Giamani & his crazy hot solo toy vid. Malachi made his last appearance in 2011, but he'll always have a place in my spank bank.
