Lance Bass, speaking about Ashley Judd's comments about being sexually harassed in Hollywood, says that harassment is “a two-way street,” pointing out that he was inappropriately touched by a “pedophile” while a member of *NSYNC.
Oh, and by the way—the other guys were, too.
Lance is certainly right to assert that when it comes to underage groping (and more), pedophiles seem to be equal-opportunity. However, I think there is no real comparison between men and women being sexually harassed as adults; it does happen to men for sure, but not nearly as often, and it's almost always (not always, but almost always) done by men.
In dropping this little bomb about his past—and thankfully, he seems not to have been adversely affected by the touching, maybe because it didn't get too intense or because he was older or because he and the other guys were able to discuss it while it was happening—Bass is basically calling out Lou Pearlman, if not by name. Pearlman is widely assumed to have touched boys in his charge in ways that were if not illegal, were at least uncomfortable.
Pearlman has never been charged with anything related to such rumors, but he'll be in jail until 2029 for his incredibly destructive, heartless Ponzi scheme.
Got a million stories about Lou.
