"They are more than a list of names. They are people who loved and who were loved."From: NewNowNext
On his prime time program Monday evening, Anderson Cooper gave a poignant tribute to the 49 lives lost in the deadly attack at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando this past weekend.
The CNN anchor opened the segment by noting that the network had yet to display photos or names of the victims of the shooting, focusing instead on the gunman and his motives. He vowed to spend the “next two hours” keeping “focus where we think it belongs, on the people whose lives were cut short.”
The nearly seven minute long video sees Cooper emotionally listing off the names of all 49 victims while sharing personal information about them that the network received from their families. He describes those lost as witty, funny, good at dancing, kind, quiet, resilient and, for the majority of the victims, too young.
Cooper shared the video on his Twitter along with the message: “They are more than a list of names. They are people who loved and who were loved.”
