Queen and Adam Lambert took to the stage Sunday night at the annual Isle Of Wight Festival, and dedicated their performance of the Queen classic “Who Wants To Live Forever” to the victims and survivors of the Orlando shooting.
“This song is dedicated to those who lost their life last night in Orlando, Florida,” an emotional Lambert told the crowd. “And anybody who has been victim of senseless violence or hatred.”
Other music stars have also paid tribute to the 49 people killed on Saturday night. Monday in Los Angeles, Lady Gaga joined throngs of mourners at a vigil at City Hall.
“Let’s all today pledge an allegiance of love to them and to their families who are suffering so deeply,” said the singer. “They are sons and daughters. They were fathers and mothers. They are all our brothers and our sisters.”
She added, “But, tonight I will not allow my anger and outrage over this attack to overshadow our need to honor those who are grieving truly for their lost ones, lost members of the LGBT community.”
