Um..I think I am perceived as witty, stylish, confident, boisterous, opinionated, responsible, sarcastic, athletic, honest and well-rounded. I think, in truth, I am most of those things but also shy until I get to know you, sometimes emotionally raw, sometimes closed off, often bossy, confident in some ways while insecure in others. Mostly I am totally honest about myself. I'm not "straight acting" nor do I care to be. I'm very comfortable with myself thought there are always things I would like to improve. I don't do drugs and I rarely drink anymore so if that's important to you we probably wont work. Oh yeah--and just so we can avoid that awkward conversation in the future, I'm HIV+ for 21 years now. If that's a deal breaker then you're missing out on a lot of really great guys.
My latest venture is launching the new HIV+ friendly Volttage.com. It's a social networking site for HIV positive men to meet. Its creation is meant to combat stigma and to create a database of information, support and resources for gay men who are a part of the international HIV-positive community. This site is very dear to me with all the years of HIV/AIDS awareness I've done over the past years. It’s different from all of the other sites because we are specifically targeting HIV-positive men who have sex with men. However, we are unique because we don’t ask members to check a box declaring their HIV status. Our belief is that you should always assume that your partner is HIV-positive and proceed accordingly—this applies to life in general.
It’s also an alternative for HIV-positive guys that feel stigmatized on other sites. Guys won’t have to worry about disclosure and being rejected based on HIV status. To my knowledge there are no other sites with adult content that cater exclusively to HIV-positive guys. We also provide health information from Dr. Frank Spinelli and current information on health and HIV related news. As we grow and evolve we will be adding bloggers and more content and features as our members request it.
I love to swim and workout and I'm very serious about my career. I'm a fashion designer and former contestant on Project Runway. Now I have a series of endeavors ranging from designing, to hosting a radio show, to writing a book and producing TV shows. You can check out more about my work at JackMackenroth.com. I can be a silly dork or a serious intellectual but I'm usually somewhere in between. I love 80's music, bad TV and horror films.
I'm looking for someone with some passion and talent. Honestly if you're not funny or at least a good audience then I will get bored pretty quickly. I also appreciate a dirty mind and a potty mouth. Anyone I date needs to be a secure person because I still get a fair amount of attention from being a television personality. It is what it is but some people can't deal with it. My ideal man would be over 30, kind of rough around the edges but have it totally going on under the surface. Tattoos are a big turn on and I love shaved heads but I really don't have a "type". I have ZERO tolerance for games and liars. I would be instantly attracted to someone who looks like they should be in a biker gang but is really a corporate superstar in real life. Just a dream. I would prefer someone in New York or close by. I completely believe in monogamy when the time is right.
I want to be with someone who can appreciate campy gay culture and does not feel the need to impress by being showy. I'm not looking for a perfect person, just someone who is emotionally mature and emotionally available. I'm also a total romantic and love giving gifts and showing I care with random sweet gestures.
Don't forget to like me on my Facebook Fanpage and follow me on Twitter @jackmackenroth. I look forward to hearing from you.
