Burt’s Bees Launches Rainbow Lip Balm Pack To Benefit GLSEN

"There is room for everyone in our hive."
From: NewNowNext
Burt’s Bees has partnered with GLSEN, the national education organization focused on ensuring safe and affirming schools for LGBT students, in celebration of Pride month.

The beauty company has released a new Limited Edition Rainbow Pride Lip Balm Pack and also pledged a $10,000 donation in support of GLSEN’s work.

“There is room for everyone in our hive, so this pride season we celebrate you and the LGBT community,” says the Burt’s Bees site. “After all, Love is Natural! #uncaplove”

The special edition lip balm comes in a collectable gift box featuring six unique flavors, and is meant to counteract some of the most recent prejudice against the LGBT community.

“As a member of the North Carolina community and an employer of LGBT people, Burt’s Bees affirms the rights and opportunities of all LGBT citizens,” said Burt’s Bees General Manager, Jim Geikie. “We value diversity and inclusion in all cases, and in light of recent events in our home state of North Carolina, we stand firmly against any act or institutionalization of discrimination in any public or private venue.”

The partnership was partly a reaction to North Carolina’s anti-LGBT HB2 at first, but has taken on even greater meaning for the company in the wake of the Orlando massacre that killed 49 people last weekend.
