75-year-old Sherri Gray is proving that acceptance and equality are not lost on our grandparents’ generation, and she wrote a beautiful song dedicated to the rainbow flag to prove it.
Gray said that her work as a therapist had her “walking this painful walk” with so many of her LGBT clients over the past few decades and she wanted to write a song to represent the respect she has for “the courage it takes to hang in there.”
“I am committed to working for my LGBT friends until the day I die,” she wrote under the video for the track she penned, titled “Rainbow Flag.”
“Fly, Freedom Flag! Fly high above!” Gray sings. “Sing your song on winds of love. You give us hope, you bring us pride. We do not run, we will not hide!”
