"That would be a bold movie. And I'm suggesting it right now."From: NewNowNext
It’s too bad nobody asked for Tom Hanks’ opinion before writing a remake of his classic ’80s movie Splash because it turns out he had some pretty interesting ideas for the project.
The reworking of the film is set to be a gender-swap from the original, with Channing Tatum set to play the merman and Jillian Bell taking on the role originally played by Hanks.
But at the premiere of his new movie, Inferno, Hanks shared that he thought there was a better way to shake things up in Splash 2.0.
“That’s fine,” he said about the idea, before deciding to take it a step further. “Look, I think if they were really going to be bold, I would come back as Allen Bauer, and I would go off with Channing Tatum.”
“That would be a bold movie,” he added. “And I am suggesting it right now.”
Watch Hanks deliver his idea for the remake in the clip below.
