“LGBT issues need to be put front and center in the national dialogue about violence and discrimination."From: NewNowNext
Logo is heading to Orlando this week to continue our coverage of the mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub and its ongoing impact on the LGBT community.
We’ll be talking to leaders of local and national organizations on the ground—including Equality Florida director Nadine Smith (left)—as well as Orlando residents directly affected by the attack.
Social influencer Raymond Braun is our correspondent on the scene, interviewing community members about the tragedy, how it’s affected their lives and what comes next.
“I want to share stories about the strength, resilience, and courage of the LGBT community in Orlando,” Braun tells NewNowNext.
“I want to pay tribute to the people who lost their lives at Pulse by sharing their stories and speaking to their loved ones.”
He’ll also explore how the tragedy is being addressed by our country’s leaders. “LGBT issues need to be put front and center in the national dialogue about violence and discrimination,” says Braun.
As a leading voice in the LGBT media landscape, Raymond Braun has covered a wide variety of LGBT topics, from Houston’s Equal Rights Ordinance to dating as a trans person. In 2015, he reported on the momentum of marriage equality, both in the U.S. and Ireland.
Stay tuned for video updates and Snapchat coverage from Logo and Raymond throughout the week.
