English singer-songwriter, Will Young performed an uplifting cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” at the BBC Music Tepee during this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Young-who is not widely known in the United States-is a top-selling artist in the U.K. He rose to fame when he won the first season of Pop Idol, the U.K.’s version of American Idol.
He made headlines when he came out in 2002. “I’m sure this will not come as a surprise to many people… I’m gay,” the singer said in a statement. “It’s totally no big deal, just part of who I am.”
Since then Young has recorded six albums, his last one, 85% Proof, was released last year.
If you’re unfamiliar with Young watch the video for his 2011 single “Jealousy,” where he plays an acrobat lusting after a male teammate.
