The Folsom Street Fair, San Francisco’s fetish street party, returns on September 27 and organizers are getting the word out with an inventive promo video that incorporates Bob Fosse choreography and the “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago.
If you want our attention, Fosse’s definitely the way to go.
And kudos for casting such a diverse group of performers.
Directed by Aron Kantor and featuring Broadway performer Colin Cunliffe, promoter Mario Diaz, genderqueer drag queen Grace Towers, and a variety of folks from San Francisco’s freak-culture demimonde, the clip “serves as both a metaphor for the Folsom Street Fair and an example of the possibilities of queer community effort and activism,” according to organizers.
