LA Galaxy player Robbie Rogers hopes that FIFA decides to not hold the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but has a plan in case it happens.
While appearing as a guest on Chelsea Handler’s new show Chelsea Does last week, the openly gay soccer star explained that he doubts FIFA will change its plans to have the World Cup in anti-gay Russia.
Rogers said the soccer association is run by “these old racist, sexist, homophobic dudes” who are just as corrupt and anti-LGBT as Russia is, but he has an idea if he ends up in the country for the big games.
“If I were on a team, I’d go,” Rogers said. “I’d have glitter. I’d make sure people knew I was gay, so I could be present and people would know. I’d have, like, a tiara.”
