The Vanity Fair “Hollywood Issue” is a big deal. The magazine has the near impossible task of corralling the hottest actors and actresses for a dynamic photo shoot that must top last year’s cover.
The Hollywood issue has gained a rather large fan base—including one group of attractive men who are re-creating the covers in their swimsuits.
They’ve re-imagined spreads with Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Claire Danes, Angela Bassett, Scarlett Johansson and even Sophia Loren.
Jorge Perez, the group’s spokesperson of sorts, tells VF they create these tableaux at get-togethers hosted by a “wealthy entrepreneur who prefers to remain anonymous.”
The guys began with homages to iconic photos using just an iPhone, and eventually “graduated to Vanity Fair.”
“In the end, each model is happy to take advantage of the opportunity to show that you can blend campiness and masculinity,” Perez said.
