A Free Drink Inspired Michelangelo’s Statue of David

It’s Pride month, and we’re celebrating with Gay Through The Ages, our way of highlighting unsung moments in LGBT history.

Today we focus on Michelangelo, the Renaissance painter who gave us the Sistine Chapel ceiling, among other masterworks. Did you know the inspiration for his legendary statue of David was a man who bought him a drink at a bar?
