Since there are so many groovy plays, musicals, concerts and events, this is my monthly list to help promote a few of them (click on a title for more information or to purchase tickets):

November 2 - 13 at NYC's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre
The Tony and Emmy winner reunites with her greatest love - Broadway - in a 12‑performance concert event. She will perform a handpicked selection of musical theater favorites, including songs from her latest album, The Art of Elegance.

Off-Broadway previews begin November 2. Opens November 20 at The Pershing Square Signature Center.
Timed to the 50th Anniversary of the musical, The New Group's production stars two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Charity Hope Valentine. Performed in an intimate setting with original choreography by Joshua Bergasse, this production of Sweet Charity will be given a fresh, modern perspective by director Leigh Silverman.

November 4 - December 4 at Stage 773 in Chicago
Porchlight Music Theatre presents the Chicago premiere of End of the Rainbow, featuring some of Judy Garland's most memorable songs. Written by Peter Quilter and directed by Michael Weber, the play is set in December 1968 as Judy Garland (Angela Ingersoll) is about to make her comeback...again. End of the Rainbow offers unique insight into the inner conflict that inspired and consumed one of the most beloved figures in American history.

November 7 at NYC's Carnegie Hall
Two-time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera makes her Carnegie Hall solo debut. Directed by Graciela Daniele, the evening promises favorites from Rivera’s career, as well as new collaborations with her special guests Alan Cumming and Andy Karl.

November 7 at NYC's Birdland
The Internet sensation will host an Election Eve Party at the historic music room. Expect election updates, outrageous humor, non-partisan insults and special guests! He will also host an Election Night Watch Party on November 8 at the Footlight Theatre at Orlando's Parliament House Resort (click here for tickets).

November 7 at Chicago's Uptown Underground
Broadway’s Capathia Jenkins and American Idol's Rayvon Owen headline Pride Films and Plays' annual fall benefit, Simply Sensational, which celebrates the greatest songs written for women in the Broadway canon. WGN's Dean Richards hosts the evening, which also includes performances by Nancy Hays, Honey West, Kevin Webb, Michelle McKenzie Voigt, and the cast of the upcoming musical, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert.

Broadway previews begin November 14. Opens December 4 at the Music Box Theatre.
This new musical about a high school's reaction to the death of a student pairs director Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal,Grey Gardens) with the composing team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (A Christmas Story, NBC’s Smash) and playwright Steven Levenson. The cast includes Ben Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Mike Faist, Will Roland, Kristolyn Lloyd and Michael Park.

November 19 & 20 at Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret in Chicago
With their fifth collaboration, Girls Like Us - cabaret favorites Laura Freeman, Beckie Menzie and Marianne Murphy Orland - bring you the music and lives of Streisand, Midler and Peters with humor, history and song.

West End previews begin November 19. Opens December 14 at the Savoy Theatre.
Thirty-five years after the groundbreaking original Broadway production, this UK and West End premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical will be directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, and it will star Amber Riley (Glee) as Effie White.

November 20 - December 30 at Mary's Attic in Chicago
Hell in a Handbag ensemble member Ed Jones stars as Rip Nelson, a mash-up of iconic television celebrities Paul Lynde, Rip Taylor and Charles Nelson Reilly. Joining Rip on this bizarre holiday romp is his trusted make-up woman, Gladys (Lori Lee), and a cavalcade of stars circa 1982, including Dom DeLuise (Tommy Bullington), Bruce Jenner (Chazie Bly), magician Doug Henning (David Lipschutz), Liza Minnelli (Alexa Castevecchi), Patti LaBelle (Robert Williams) and Rip’s arch rival, Kermit the Frog (Scott Merchant). To make matters even more complicated, Rip’s musical guests, The Lennon Sisters (Kristopher Bottrall, Anna Seibert and AJ Wright), are engaged in a bitter war with their musical nemeses, The King Cousins (Grant Drager, Rachel Hadlock and Terry McCarthy).
