Nashville must’ve been empty when they filmed this because every major country singer you could think of is in a new music video called “Forever Country”—in honor of the CMA Awards’ 50th anniversary this year.
The clip features the country crooners lending their golden pipes to a mashup of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” and Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again.” As as if that wasn’t enough to make you watch, the song is also produced by out songwriter Shane McAnally.
“All the people involved are people that we love, and that we loved 10 years ago, 20 years ago and today,” Tim McGraw told Rolling Stone about the collaboration.
“There’s every era of country music in this song and in the video,” added Trisha Yearwood. “I’m just trying not to be giddy the whole time. I’m supposed to be emoting and I’m really just going, ’This is so cool!'”
Which members of Nashville’s royal court are in the video, you ask?
Dierks Bentley? Check.
Miranda Lambert? Yup.
Carrie Underwood? Looking flawless.
Tim McGraw? He’s there!
Reba McEntire? Duh.
Kacey Musgraves? You betcha!
Willie Nelson? Uh huh.
And 23 other superstars!
Make sure to stay until the very end to see the queen of country herself, Dolly Parton close out the epic mashup. Of course they’d save the best for last!
