It was a big weekend for gingers, as the seventh annual Irish Redhead Convention took place in the Irish village of Crosshaven.
The event is intended to celebrate “all things to do with having fabulous red hair, the rarest hair color in the world,” but is also an opportunity to raise awareness about melanoma and other forms of skin cancer that redheads are more susceptible to.

The festival even hands out awards in different categories, including “World’s Greatest Ginger Beard,” “Most Freckles Per Square Inch,” and “Best Wannabe Redhead.”
The biggest winners of the celebration, however, were Andy O’Neill and Emma Ni Chearuil, who were crowned the King and Queen of the festival.

So far, the Convention has raised over $33,887 on behalf of its charity partner, the Irish Cancer Society.
