A website has posted a photo of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau kissing Tom Mulcair, leader of the opposing New Democratic Party, with a headline declaring the two politicians are “united against homophobia.”
“After an event like this, we had to do something,” the French-language site quotes Trudeau as saying “I approached Tom to see what he thought, but I didn’t expect him to be so enthusiastic.”
Even our untrained eyes can tell the photograph is Photoshopped, but the satirical article sparked some positive feedback—and more than 20,000 likes on JournalDeMourreal.com, whose name is a play on the real newspaper Le Journal de Montreal, a real newspaper.
One man suggested other world leaders should kiss.
Paris borough mayor Christophe Girard fell for the hoax, too, posting it with the comment “When the prime minister of Canada kisses the leader of the opposition to symbolize universal sexual freedom after Orlando.”
We think Mssrs. Trudeau and Mulcair owe it to us to make this image a reality, don’t you?
