"We need to show that we are strong, that Pulse continues and that we appreciate all the help the community has shown us."From: NewNowNext
The owner of Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub, the site of the horrific June 12 mass shooting that saw the loss of 49 lives, has announced that she and her staff will be hosting a “Latin Night” street party tonight.
“We need to show that we are strong, that Pulse continues and that we appreciate all the help the community has shown us. We have all come through an extraordinary and terrible ordeal, and we know that we have to keep moving forward. My commitment is to keep Pulse alive, and this is a great way to start just that,” said Pulse owner Barbara Poma.
As Pulse itself is still closed, the party will be held at a venue two miles away from the nightclub. There, performers and dancers will entertain the community through the night in tribute to the LGBT Latino lives lost in the massacre 11 days ago. According to local reports, Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioner Patty Sheehan have been invited to the event.
