The man responsible for pouring scalding water on a gay couple while they were sleeping has been indicted.
Martin Blackwell threw the pot of water on Marquez Tolbert and Anthony Gooden while they were in bed together, causing them to suffer horrific second and third-degree burns.
Now the 48-year-old is looking at eight counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault and could face up to 80 years in prison.
Although, as we previously reported, Blackwell couldn’t be charged with a hate crime by police because Georgia currently doesn’t have any bias-crime statutes, the FBI is currently conducting their own hate-crime investigation over the attack.
Blackwell was dating Gooden’s mother, Kim Foster, and threw the boiling water on the men because he didn’t like that they were gay.
