Vintage Ice Cream Commercial Declares “It’s So Hard To Have A Gay Time On Your Own!”

This vintage television spot for Golden Gaytime ice cream is possibly our new favorite thing to come out of the ’80s!
The commercial that features a roving gang of excitable Australian 20-somethings eating their favorite Golden Gaytime “ice lollies” first went viral when it was featured on an episode of VH1′s Best Week Ever back in 2010, but we’re sharing it again because there’s no bad time to watch an inspired group of adults unwrap phallic cream-filled food items and shove them down their throats.
There are hot air balloons! Elephants! Perms! A very ’80s woman sporting a very ’80s “excited” face!
“It’s so hard to have a gay time on your own!,” the ad exclaims. Good thing these folks have found some enthusiastic company to have a gay time with.
