From I Want Your Love to Weekend, queer cinema is moving beyond the bad reputation established from the crap they’ll play on Logo. I myself have fallen victim to the idea that all gay movies are downright atrocious and full of bad stereotypes, so I will be using TLAgay‘s 25% off Memorial Day weekend sale as an opportunity to broaden my horizons and explore the world beyond Another Gay Movie. (Not that I’m judging you if you enjoyed Another Gay Movie. Except, yes, I am.)
Here’s a list of ten titles I’m interested in. If you happen to have suggestions or would like to speak out against any of the movies listed, I’ll be happy to read through what you have to say and take it into consideration when making my final decision. This isn't my tricky way of getting you to comment. I’m genuinely interested in your opinion, especially as someone who doesn't specialize in film.
BAD BOY STREET
I don’t actually know very much about prolific queer filmmaker Todd Verow, but I can tell you a few things about his 2012 film Bad Boy Street—1) It has an excellent rating on TLAgay, 2) It takes place in Paris and centers around an intergenerational romance, and 3) The male leads could both get approximately 9,198,731 rimjobs from me.
