BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Metairie man has been arrested after breaking into a Baton Rouge Taco Bell while they were closed and stealing food items because he was intoxicated and hungry.
On July 23 at around 3:30 a.m., the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office responded to a call at the Taco Bell on Siegen Lane.
A delivery driver told officials that he was making a delivery to the business while they where closed when he saw a shirtless man enter the building.
He then saw the suspect running away from the restaurant to an adjacent parking lot with a large bag of taco shells.
A sheriff's deputy located the suspect, Brandon William Steadman, 19, near a large pile of taco shells and empty wrappers. After being arrested, Steadman admitted he stole the taco shells because he was intoxicated and hungry.
Steadman was charged with Simple Burglary and Theft.
