Ad Featuring Gay Dads Pulled From YouTube After Catholic Group Protests

But was their homophobic campaign really to blame for the video's removal?
From: NewNowNext
An anti-LGBT Catholic group in Spain is proudly taking credit for an ad featuring gay fathers being pulled from YouTube.

The sweet commercial for a Spanish department store had two dads struggling to fit a book cover over their child’s schoolbook, causing their son to turn to his friend and say, “See? I told you it wouldn’t be quicker with two dads!”

Showing a family who loves each other was found to be unacceptable by the homophobic group HazteOir.com, which collected more than 21,000 signatures on a petition to have the ad taken down.

The commercial wasn’t met entirely with bigotry and fear, however, as an opposing petition fighting the removal of the video garnered 79,000 signatures.

Ultimately, the video was pulled, and HazteOir.com says a rep from El Corte Inglés told the group that it was because of their campaign.

El Corte Inglés is telling a different story though, saying the ad, and several others, had to be taken down because the rights to the music used in the spots had expired.

Watch the controversial ad below.
