In advance of the 20th anniversary of the animated classic Hercules next year, one Disney fan group posted a behind-the-scenes look at how one of the most beloved songs in the film, “Zero to Hero,” came together.
As is common practice for many animated films, the animators for Hercules used real models to inspire the facial expressions and movements of their characters.
Below, we see the reference models for the Muses delivering a sickening performance of their signature song, alongside the final animation from the film. It’s an interesting look at not only how illustration comes to life, but also at how fierce a live action version of Hercules would be.
