Living legend Barbra Streisand is going back to Broadway with news of a new album and tour this summer.
Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway, Streisand’s 35th studio album, will have her enlisting “some of Hollywood’s biggest stars to sing Broadway classics.” None of the celebrities that will accompany her have been announced yet, but a pic of Streisand and Daisy Ridley in the recording studio together was posted on Instagram, so it’s safe to bet that Ridley took a break from Star Wars Episode VIII to be one of her singing partners.
Not only was there album news, but Streisand also announced a new tour with stops in major cities around the U.S.:
August 2 Los Angeles Staples Center
August 4 San Jose SAP Center at San Jose
August 6 Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena
August 9 Chicago United Center
August 11, 13 Brooklyn Barclays Center
August 16 Boston TD Garden
August 18 Washington D.C. Verizon Center
August 20 Philadelphia Wells Fargo Center
August 23 Toronto Air Canada Centre
Encore will take her back to the Great White Way like her hugely popular 1985 release The Broadway Album and 1994’s Back to Broadway. The new album will also continue Streisand’s trend of famous duets after her last release, 2014’s Partners, that had her singing with other popular singers like Michael Buble, Billy Joel and John Legend.
No release date has been announced yet.
