Bryan Silva, the gay adult film performer who became somewhat of a Vine sensation after a series of entertaining six-second clips in which he records himself reciting rap lyrics from his bathroom went viral, is now experiencing a different sort of internet fame.
Silva, 25, was arrested for possessing an illegal firearm and allegedly kidnapping his girlfriend, 17, after a tense day-long stand-off with police in Charlottesville, VA.
After Silva allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a firearm, she contacted police at around 6 a.m. Silva barricaded himself inside his home, prompting authorities to dispatch a crisis negotiation team.
The scene was a shock in the otherwise quiet residential community, especially when nearby churches began to let out.
Silva posted to Facebook throughout the ordeal.
Local NBC affiliate reports:
He uploaded a screenshot of a chat in which he wrote, “She betrayed me”. Silva also posted a video showing police surrounding his home.
A second video, posted just before he surrendered to police, shows Silva yelling, dancing, and drinking what appears to be vodka.
Some neighbors were less than shocked.
Also via NBC:
“I always thought that house was always kind of a little bit sketchy and we’ve seen cops there before we’ve seen things go on there,” said Leslie Tanner, neighbor.
Finally at 3 p.m. police fired tear gas into the home. A few minutes later, Silva walked out shirtless with his pants around his knees and was arrested without incident.
Silva, already a convicted felon for destruction of property and marijuana possession, was charged with abduction and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was taken to Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
He now awaits a March 3 trial.
