Melissa Rivers Steps Into Mother Joan’s Shoes For “Joy” Cameo

Nobody can replace Joan Rivers – nobody – but if anyone were to step into her shoes, it should be her daughter, Melissa.

And so it will be, with Melissa portraying her late mother in a cameo in David O. Russell’s upcoming film, Joy, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

“I worked hard on her speech pattern, but not so much the accent because I didn’t want it to be an imitation or a caricature,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I achieved what i wanted to achieve which is that her warmth came through.”

Adding: “It’s the best honor to her.”
