This year marks 120 years since chiropractic was founded. Traditionally, Founder’s Day is celebrated on Sept. 18, the date which is on or near the anniversary of the first chiropractic adjustment by D.D. Palmer in Davenport, Iowa, in 1895.
Chiropractors around the world commemorate this special date each year. Some offer complimentary services to their patients or host parties or receptions in their practices.
Three years ago, Glenda Foy, D.C., Aledo, Ill., held a breakfast and dinner to celebrate chiropractic’s “birthday” as well as her own 37 years in practice. Last year, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed a proclamation that declared September to be Subluxation Awareness Month.
