PARTY! Adore Delano just raised the bar for all future queens with Billboard reporting that the season six runner-up landed the biggest sales week ever of any Drag Race contestant. Adore’s debut album, Til Death Do Us Party, sold 5,000 copies in the week ending June 8, according to Nielsen Soundscan, to debut at number 3 on the Dance/Electronic chart and number 59 on the Billboard 200.
Though many queens have released songs and albums after appearing on the show, Delano, née Danny Noriega, is one of Drag Race‘s more accomplished musicians. Noriega competed on the seventh season of American Idol and frequently shut shit down with her chops during her Drag Race run.
Delano’s “I Adore U” also sold well, debuting on the Hot Dance/Electronic chart at number 49 and number 34 on the Dance/Electronic Singles chart with sales of 4,000 copies. Previously, Willam Belli held the crown for biggest sales week with the shticky anthem, “Boy Is A Bottom”, which sold just over 3,000 copies.
