As Pride month heads into its final weeks in the US, we couldn't help but salute some of the models unafraid to live their lives out and proud. These out underwear models have helped shape the LGBT movement in different ways.
Rodiney Santiago appeared in one of Logo’s first hit shows, the A-List New York. Since then, he has organized a line of swimwear with Rufskin called RufRod and continues to be visible in the community. Dusty St. Amand had a more subtle yet eye opening appearance on television in one of the first “What Would You Do?” segments involving a same sex couple being open with their love. You may not recognize him because, since then, he has grown out some signature facial hair.
Peter Pretty served in the Marine Corps. He was one of the first openly gay military figures since the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Pablo Hernandez has lent his time and energy to battling stigmas and bullying, appearing in the HIV= campaign as well as the No H8 campaign.
Colby Melvin has been vocal about sharing his insights during interviews and was a vocal component against Prop 8. Joshua Micheal Brickman is gearing up to participate at Broadway Bares to raise funds to battle AIDS and raise awareness.
