Duncan James On Coming Out As Bisexual: “It Was Just Easier To Use That Word”

From: Queerty
Following Lee Ryan’s acknowledgement of rumors that he was 100 percent gay, in which he stated he was “unfazed” by the speculation, fellow Blue member Duncan James has spoken regarding his own fluid sexuality.
He revealed yesterday that he could “still easily sleep with a woman” despite being totally gay.
His sentiment echoes Ryan’s, who said earlier this week that “sexuality doesn’t need to be defended or justified.” It also further asserts that Jessie J, a struggling musician who claimed this week that bisexuality was a “phase” some people can “grow out of,” is a complete hack.
Duncan James had long been known as bisexual, but later revealed that he was completely gay. His latest comments come via an interview with Gay Star News:
I think to myself, I sleep with men, so that makes me gay. Regardless of whether I sleep with women or not, I’m still sleeping with men so I’m gay.
So I’m still attracted to women, I could still easily sleep with a woman. I haven’t in the last couple of years but I think if I meet a girl I could still have a relationship with her.
I do say I’m gay, but I don’t really care about labels. I don’t really care if people want to call me bisexual or gay.
He also claimed he initially came out as “bisexual” because “at the time, it was just easier to use the word.” Ahem.
