Out magazine profiles the duo in its June/July "Hot List" issue with a story titled, "The Making of Macklemore" by writer Stacy Lambe. In the story, Macklemore says, “These were some of the hardest words to write on a piece of paper, knowing that people were going to hear this,” adding that playing the song for his uncle and his partner, let alone to thousands of fans, meant exposing himself.
