From: The Underwear Expert
Rodiney Santiago made quite the splash in the Logo TV reality show, The A-List New York, as the sultry Brazilian who had plans to make it big in the US male fashion world. Since the show’s cancellation, Santiago is living in Miami but has since gone on to shoot campaigns for Rufskin and walk the runway for 2(x)ist. Beyond his work with underwear brands, Santiago has also released some popular calendars (his most recent 2014 one is available now), which helps raise money for charity.
In between traveling for a movie shoot, Santiago took some time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us at The Underwear Expert. From the interview, we learned how there isn't much difference between American men and Brazilian men when it comes to underwear and got a glimpse into how much family plays a role in the life of a model

I was discovered in…a ‘Mister Minas Gerais’ beauty contest by a respected modeling agency. That’s when my career started. From there I moved to Sao Paulo to model. After that, I was offered international opportunities and was able to follow my big dream of moving to the United States to take my career to a new level.
Modeling in Brazil…isn't as different as modeling in the United States. I’ll say that being Brazilian makes me stand out in the U.S.
My favorite swimwear brand is…my brand, RUFROD by Rufskin, of course. I would say my favorite style is the Brazilian cut “sunga.” It is comfortable, sexy, and can be worn by all kinds of male physiques. When it comes to underwear, I like all kinds of brands. I have many different cuts and styles, so, it’s hard to say which ones are my favorite.
My favorite underwear campaign so far…is a toss up between Rufskin and 2(x)ist. Rufskin has always been influenced by Brazil in some way or another. Before working for them, I was a big fan. Being Brazilian and meeting the designers of Rufskin who also speak Portuguese quite well made the working relationship a lot easier and interesting.
The sexiest underwear on a partner…is anything that shows off his masculine body.
In terms of underwear, Brazilian guys…are not that different than guys in the U.S. The major difference would be how Brazilians place their junk in underwear. They tend to place it on the side.
