With the economy in the tank this year,
the goodtime girls of Thessaloniki had taken matters into their own hands,
and started holding their own club night in their flat.

Our dear brothers in the Northern Greek city of Thessaloniki were not even phased by eggings that took place over the weekend at their local gay pride festivities. The twenty or so Christians and right-wingers ‘were quite amusing’ says Pavlos.

After they got permission from the mayor to have their parade, that bearded Orthodox cleric, Anthimos — who, like Cher or Madonna, only answers to the one name — had made it perfectly clear he wasn’t too keen on their wish to dress up in ridiculous costumes and prance around like outrageous queens.
