Matthew Filippi, aged 27, entered the Halfway House on Day 0 and was the ninth housemate to enter on Launch night. On Day 5, Matthew won the first Showdown and therefore won $5,000, the first nomination superpower and a night in the Presidential Suite with a housemate of his choice. He chose Caleb. Although he wasn't nominated by his fellow housemates on Day 16, he was swapped in a twist on Day 17. He survived this eviction on Day 22 after receiving 27% of the vote to save. Matt was up for eviction again the following week and was saved from the eviction with 13% of the vote. On day 50 Matthew was the seventh housemate to be evicted and therefore left the big brother house. He received 11.7% of the Australian vote.
