Jean Marais
(1913—1998)
This bi French actor worked incessantly and was utterly exquisite, almost to the point of being too much, especially under the direction of his lover Jean Cocteau. He is a living, breathing—if two-dimensional due to the constraints of the form!—work of art in films like Beauty and the Beast and Orpheus. A true renaissance man, he was gifted in all the arts, not only in the art of looking good.
Sexy Sampler:
L'eternel retour (1943), Voyage Without Hope (1943), Carmen (1945), Beauty and the Beast (1946), Les parents terribles (1948), Coriolan (1950), Orpheus (1950)
