As Hillary Clinton spoke at a gay nightclub in Wilton Manors, Florida, yesterday, her opponent walked onto the stage at a Colorado rally holding a rainbow flag with “LGBT for Trump” emblazoned on it.
Some 3,000 to 4,000 supporters came to the University of Northern Colorado’s Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley. It’s not clear where the flag came from, though the message on it appeared to be handwritten.
Trump didn’t address LGBT rights in his speech, though: After promising to carry Colorado in the presidential race, the GOP candidate took a shot at the NFL and Colin Kaepernick, then went after Hillary Clinton’s “mounting legal troubles.”
He also made ominous predictions about the future of America should be not be elected.
“This is your last chance, if we don’t win… it will be very, very sad,” he told the crowd. “This will be your last chance to win.”
Trump did address some policy issues, including congressional term limits, repealing ObamaCare and
preventing foreign interests from donating to political campaigns.
Watch the full rally below.
At this summer’s RNC convention, Trump swore he would “protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology.”
At the same time, he has chosen anti-gay governor Mike Pence as his running mate and has promised to appoint Supreme Court justices that would overturn marriage equality.
