I’m not somebody who gets worked up about the Olympics every four years. I don’t like having shows preempted and so much of the games are just booooorrrrring and dull and specific and I don’t have the time for it! Just tell me who won and show me their skin-tight competition outfits!
But then Esquire heard my cries and complied a collection of the 36 best bulges over Olympics history, summarizing all the things I care about, vis a vis the Olympics. As a bulge connoisseur myself, these weren’t all up to snuff for me, but I went in and pulled out the ten best to share here with you guys:
**GOLD MEDAL BULGE**
Alexandre Despatie
Canada
At Athens 2004
Elbrus Tedeyev
Ukraine
At Athens 2004
Ryan Lochte
USA
At the Team U.S.A. 2016 swimming trials.
**SILVER MEDAL BULGE**
Qiu Bo
China
At London 2012
Sam Mikulak
USA
At London 2012
Ashton Eaton
USA
At London 2012
Jake Dalton
USA
Bonus: At the 2016 Secret U.S. Classic and Men’s P&G Gymnastics Championships, which is not the Olympics but are you going to complain, seriously?!
Nicholas McCrory
and
David Boudia
USA
In perfect synchronicity at London 2012
**BRONZE MEDAL BULGE**
Nicholas McCrory
USA
At London 2012
Ryan Bailey
USA
At London 2012
These aren’t the best angles for some of these otherwise impressive bulges, but Esquire didn’t call me to ask me to curate D/B photography.
I’ll be excited to see who’s gonna have that gold medal basket this year. Tom Daley’s held the title for quite some time.
