MSNBC’s Tamron Hall was in no mood to get lectured by actor Scott Baio this morning when he appeared on the cable news network to discuss his speech at the Republican National Convention last night.
Hall confronted the Christian actor known for his role as Chachi Arcola on the sitcom Happy Days for his vulgar tweets targeting First Lady Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Apparently these are the kinds of things @ScottBaio writes in church. #RNCinCLE pic.twitter.com/6E2kyBbNA7— Eric Grant (@ericgrant) July 19, 2016
Hall asks, “Let’s talk about your speech. I know you said you went to church and you’ve talked about your religion. One of the things that caught my eye was this tweet that you sent out on July 10th, a photo of Hillary Clinton standing in front of the word ‘COUNT’, the ‘O’ is blocking, so it appears she is standing in front of the ‘C’ [CUNT] word. Did you think about that in church when you tweeted it out?”
Baio responded: “That’s just offered out without commentary. I just put it up there.”
Hall again asked: “I guess I’m asking you are writing your speech in church, you are talking about religion coming back to this country and that’s having a moral barometer. Where was your moral compass when you put a photo of a woman that you disagree with politically and that’s fine, but when you send out that..”
Baio: “Tamron you can look at that any way you want. It’s the word ‘COUNT’, that’s what she is standing in front of, I just put it up there, there is no commentary attached to it I didn’t call her anything, and the fact that you question my faith..”
Hall: “You’ve questioned others faith, when you say ‘we need to bring back religion’ implying that somehow the moral compass for people that you don’t even know..”
Tamron then confronted Baio with a second tweet, an unflattering image he tweeted of Michelle Obama with the caption “Wow! He wakes up to this every morning.”
