"I pledge to bring empathy and courage to anyone who has been made to feel unworthy."From: NewNowNext
Nearly four months after his bold anthem “Welcome to the Show” debuted on American Idol, out singer Adam Lambert has released a music video for the song.
It’s the first time Lambert has produced his own video, with help from longtime collaborator Lee Cherry and Swedish songwriter Laleh, whose vocals are also featured on the track.
Lambert writes that the song about “facing exactly who you are and owning it. It’s intended as a mantra to inspire strength and pride.”
The video, which gives us a shirtless Lambert looking quite fetching, begins in black-and-white, before exploding into an array of colors at the climax. Lambert says the effect captures the “vulnerability” he wanted to convey.
“Through my art,” he wrote, “I pledge to bring empathy and courage to anyone who has been made to feel unworthy or ashamed while daring to be themselves.”
