A young man arrested by religious police in Manbij, Syria was thrown off the top of a building by ISIS on Saturday, shortly after he was accused of “sodomy.”
“The barbaric execution took place in front of hundreds of people,” local activist Nasser Taljbini told ARA News.
According to Taljbini, ISIS called upon the city’s residents to gather at the foot of the building to watch. Before murdering the man, ISIS confirmed publicly that he was charged with homosexuality, a crime for which the punishment is death by being thrown from the top of a building.
Eyewitnesses said “the young man was taken by the masked militants to the top of the building and [thrown] blindfolded.”
According to Sharia law, “throwing gays this way will cleanse their sins.” In similar cases previously, locals (including children) are instructed to stone survivors to death.
“The man was thrown brutally by ISIS masked members from the top of the building in the city,” Taljbini added.
ARA reports that after the execution, ISIS released a new propaganda video showing different stages of the man’s execution along with a warning: “Do not reach Allah’s boundaries.”
