“Dancing With The Stars” Judges Drag Nyle DiMarco For Being Too Confident

Nyle pulled off a stunning Quickstep but wound up at the bottom of the pack Monday night.

Nyle DiMarco made a stunning transformation into The Mask for his performance on Dancing With the Stars last night, but wasn’t quite able to wow the judges the way he has nearly every other week up to this point.

The 26-year-old Top Model winner and his pro dancing partner Peta Murgatroyd danced an energetic Quickstep to “Hey Pachuco” by Royal Crown Revue and wound up tying for fourth with a score of 25 out of 30, just one week after he scored the season’s highest score with a perfect 10 performance.

A special guest appearance was even made by DWTS alum Michael Sam, who was seated on stage at a table as part of the performance.

Critiques from the judges covered Nyle’s dance as well as comments he made in rehearsal footage that aired before the performance, which the judges thought were cocky.

“I think my competition right now is [pro dancer] Val,” Nyle said when asked who his biggest celebrity competition is. “It’s not the celebrities—I’m looking at Val because I don’t really necessarily see them being better than me. I’m just feeling confident.”

Said Len Goodman: “You’re a good dancer, but don’t start saying ’I’m as good as Val,’ because you’ll just annoy people. It’s ridiculous.”

But on Twitter, pro DWTS dancers Val and Alan Bersten had different opinions:
