“A fit of rage” is what’s being described as the state Jose Luis Rodriguez was in when he allegedly stabbed his boyfriend’s chihuahua to death in an Upper East Side Manhattan park over the weekend.
Randy Capehart, aka gay adult film actor Vin Nolan, was in Texas attending his grandmother’s funeral and left his dog, Buddy, in the care of Rodriguez.
Suspecting Nolan of cheating, Rodriguez flew off the handle and attacked Buddy in John Jay Park, near East 78th Street and FDR Drive, as terrified onlookers, including children, watched.
A witness promptly dialed 9-1-1, and Rodriguez was arrested a block from the park, a police spokesman told Daily Mail Online.
He was found covered in the dog’s blood.
After his arrest, Rodriguez told police that he suspected his boyfriend of cheating.
“Apparently my former partner had a psychotic break,” Nolan told the Post.
On Facebook, Nolan wrote:
It’s with a heavy heart I have to announce the passing of my beautiful sweet innocent Buddy.
Rest in peace my beautiful angel, I only wish I would have been there to save you.”
Rodriguez faces felony charges of aggravated cruelty to an animal, criminal mischief and criminal possession of a weapon.
