"IT IS ALMOST 10 YEARS NOW SINCE I STARTED ORGANIZING MY FIRST GAY SKI WEEK, FURTHER TO AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE AS A CUSTOMER OF A GAY SKI EVENT THAT TODAY NO LONGER EXISTS. EVEN IF I LOVED THE CONCEPT I WAS CONVINCED THAT IT WAS POSSIBLE TO OPEN IT TOWARDS THE RESORT, RATHER THAN KEEPING IT CLOSED INTO A CLUB FORMULA, AND THEREFORE ATTRACT MORE AND MORE GAYS INTO A SKI RESORT FOR GREAT SKIING AND PARTYING. MY FIRST EVENT GATHERED 60 PARTICIPANTS. THAT WAS IN 2005 IN LA PLAGNE." – OLIVIER, ORGANIZER OF THE EUROPEAN SNOW PRIDE -
Seasons after seasons, the concept has proved to be very successful. From 2009 to 2012, while Olivier was part of another structure, he was deeply involved in the organisation of this event that has gathered about 1000 gays coming from all over Europe and beyond into a ski resort and which also attracted Europe’s best gay DJ, clubs and parties. The creation of a new event in September 2012, the European Snow Pride, was a logical consequence of his experience, his history and his know-how, in order to fulfill all of the gay consumers skiing, partying and conviviality requirements and deliver accordingly with the expected quality. After the success of the 2013, 2014 and 2015 events,European Snow Pride, Powered by Scruff, has now become the most important and popular truly European gay ski week across Europe attracting hundreds of guests from all over Europe, North America and beyond.
European Snow Pride is more than the average gay ski week as the activities go far beyond. Not only is there of course the possibility to explore the fantastic ski area, Espace Killy, which is one of the most beautiful ski areas in the world (and snow sure). European Snow pride is also a gay film and music event that has not yet found its equal in any other gay ski event organized. The place where it all happens, Tignes, is a gay friendly resort and hosted in 2015 the very first Gay pride ever held in a ski resort. This year will not be an exception: the 2nd edition of the Tignes Gay Pride is scheduled to take place during the European Snow Pride.
This year sees one big difference with previous events. The European Snow Pride organization has secured the Chalet du Bollin for a daily après-ski celebration that with a variety of DJs, vocal performers, saxophone players, dancers and various creatures will leave the already known Folie Douce far behind. Besides the exceptional après-ski there will be parties. Many parties with many international renowned DJs and artists, such as Rozalla, the iconic singer of the 90’s and Tracy Young, DJ from New York who is one of Madonna's favorites. Not forgetting the best DJs and artists from England (Lee Harris, Per QX), from France (Tommy Marcus, Little Nemo and Kevork Sax) and from Germany (Rony Golding), who will without doubt be able to fill up the brand new Tignespace, 3000 people capacity venue dedicated to major events which will turn into a giant dancefloor. Of course there will be the traditional Pool Party Tignes’ beautiful 5000m2 Lagon, sponsored by ES Collection and BeautifulMag.
Skiing and partying. And if that is not enough, European Snow pride also offers European Snow Pride gay film festival. For the 2nd year in a row this gay film festival in partnership with Yagg, France’s biggest LGBT media, will take place in the superb cinema of Tignes featuring a large selection of cult and recent gay films. By doing so, it is only one of its kind taking place in a ski resort.
