Artist/illustrator Nathan Rapport’s new queer coloring book is so NSFW in its frank depiction of queer sex acts that we can’t even feature only two severely cropped images on our site.*
The light-hearted book seeks to explore the relationship casual sex has with post-breakup heartbreak, asking why we tend to turn to a lack of intimacy when experiencing a loss of intimacy.
Relatable?
“Pairing images of casually primal and unromantic sexual situations with thoughtfully selected classic heartbreak lyrics was an exercise in wrapping my head around the relationship between the two,” Rapport tells us.
“I was attracted to the NSFW content because I wanted to be candid and honest about the healing process. The emotion is raw and potent, so I wanted to be sure the imagery fell in line with that. Plus there’s always something wonderful about taking something traditionally innocent and playful, like a coloring book, and give it a naughty queer edge.”
We couldn’t agree more.
